According to my Dr. I'll be seven weeks pregnant tomorrow. I just had a question about cervical position, though. Around two months, what should your cervix feel like? Should it be soft, medium or hard? Also, should it be 100% closed?
I have my first pre-natal exam two weeks ago. She said everything looked good. Last week, my symptoms started getting worse. I have had an increase in nausea (no vomiting), breast tenderness, and some mild cramps.
My question though: my cervix tends to change daily! Sometimes it's high, soft and tightly closed. Other times, like today, it's medium softness and has a dimple which I can fit the tip of my pinky in. It's still high. Is something wrong with me? Should your cervix be high, soft and closed the entire time, until labor begins? I'm really scared. This is my first pregnancy.

It's actually okay to check your cervix during pregnancy, as long as you don't do it too often, and your hands are clean. You won't cause a miscarriage or contractions. Also, most Dr's WILL do an internal exam on your first pre-natal visit, which involves a pap smear. There's no risk of miscarriage associated with that, either. Your child is protected in the womb, and checking your cervix won't cause any damage- as long as you're not doing it excessively.
It's also normal for your cervix to change positions throughout the day, and may feel more open/closed, or hard/soft at different times. However, if you're Dr. says everything looks okay, then I wouldn't worry too much! He knows what he's doing!

Well, I never felt my cervix when pregnant. It makes me so mad. I just started checking my cervix a couple of months ago. I don't know about pregnancy. I would think it's suppost to stay high and a different feeling to it and shouldn't be open. Defently closed all the way. Just ask the doctor and he will tell you. Cramps are all apart of pregnancy just as long as you don't get bright red blood. Just watch out for decreases in signs with cramping and bleeding. Increase of signs is good. That means your levels are rising so making you more sick and feeling pregnant. Also be careful of puitting your finger in your cervix as you could get an ifection to the baby. Checking your cervix is ok but don't do it to often when pregnant, don't push on yuor cervix as that can actually make you miscarriage and cause infection, and make sure your hands are defently washed good before doing any checks. I can maybe try to look it up on the web, that always helps me! good luck and hoep everything is fine!

Look Hun, you're stressing too much with this.. You are going to the doctor, right? He/she knows what he/she is doing. If they say everything is OK, then it's OK.
There is nothing wrong with you. You are doing just fine. The increase in nausea is the lovely thing we like to call 'morning sickness' , It is very normal to have breast tenderness and some mild cramping. What you DO have to worry about it excessive bleeding and very painful cramps. If you are not experiencing this, then stop worrying. Stress is not good for you or baby...Chill out.
Here is a web site about the do's and dont's on pregnancy for first time mommies.
Just hang in there , go to your appointments..remember to ask the docs ANY questions you might have about your pregnancy, they should be more than happy to answer them!

You should NOT be messing with your cervix during early pregnancy. Most doctors wont even do an internal exam, and if they do they dont even check your cervix again AT ALL until you're full term.
You CERTAINLY dont want to be sticking your finger in your cervix, whats wrong with you? Thats how doctors stretch the cervix to induce labor.
Keep your fingers out of there, your cervix is super sensitive during pregnancy, especially early on. Cramps are normal, but you can CAUSE them, and cause contractions, and cause infection, and cause all sorts of other things that will result in you losing the baby.
Honestly, what the hell? Leave yourself alone, and go get checked.

I think you are looking for something to worry about. Try to get rest, take vitamens, drink water and listen to your doctor. Take it easy.

General rule of thumb: if your doctor's not worried about anything, you shouldn't be either. RELAX.... the stress isn't doing your baby any good.

i don't think you are feeling your cervix...you would have to stick your entire hand in your vagina, which is nearly impossible.

i suggest you stop checking it out for yourself. you are giving yourself to much worry. leave the medical examinations to your doc. if you don't check.............you won't worry!........and if you doc isn't worried, you shouldn't be either.
