Pregnancy & Parenting - 1 November 2007

Every time I have a friend who is pregnant, the doctors are threatening to induce her labor if she's even a few days past due. Heck, I was two weeks late and there was no problem. Do you think there's a valid reason for this, or do you think doctors are trying to have too much control over a natural process? After all, especially with women who don't have regular periods I'd think the due date could be a week or so off anyway.

Do you think inducing so often is okay, or do you think doctors should lay off more and let nature take its course? Why?

I’m trying to conceive. Past 4days until now I have been experiencing some brown mucous like discharge and it isn’t like normal periods because it’s very light in flow. It spots on the panty and then I only see a little bit when I wipe after urinating. Should I get excited/ worried?

On the third day the test was neg. is it too early perhaps?

Hello

A few weeks ago through my family, I met a women who has moved interstate. He daughter is 2 (same age as my son), so I have befriended her to get her into the community, help her meet other people etc.

When her daughter was about 1, she got a circle burn on her forehead from a hand blender without the bottom on it, that the child stuck to her forehead. Since then she has a red/pink burn mark that just wont go away. I would like to know if anyone can suggest something that I could buy or make that would help heal this 2yr olds scar, that is a year or so old?

Hello,
I had a misscarriage on the 19th of sep a blightmum ovary and now i found out last week that i'm pregnant again. I am so happy. But today i had aa ultrasound and they can only see a small sac about 6 wks old, no baby yet.
Is this tooo soon to tell?
Is the baby meant to be 6 wks along like the sac or could it be 4 or 5 weeks that's why they can't see it.
I really don't want this to be another blightum ovary.
What are the chances of having two in a row?
Has anyone been through ths and gone back in two weeks and seen there baby and it's heart beat?

I'm writing an english paper to compare and contrast a "fork in the road" in my life. I'm nineteen now, but when I was seventeen and freshly a highschool graduate I found out I was pregnant. Rather than getting an abortion I kept my baby and for the past 8 and a half months I've been blessed to raise a beautiful boy while juggling school and a fulltime job. My essay requires me to compare the benefits and negative impacts of my life choice. I have to write it as if I am giving advice to the reader, but I'm stuck. The approach I am trying to take is that my life choice has made a positive impact, but what I really have to write is comparing and contrasting one of the lifepaths I could have taken had I not chosen to become a young mother.

If you were struggling in a situation deciding on whether or not to keep your unplanned pregnancy, what would be your deciding factor inkeeping or aborting? How would it impact your life if you had an abortion or how has it?

Im like 15 weeks pregnant and this is me and my partners first, and I feel hes not being very supportive, He gose out of town for work and I only see him on weekends, or once every two weeks, when he is in town he always gose out drinking and I dont even wanna think of what hes doing,, he says I dont care but im trying to do whatever to make this work & I dont wanna be alone and could not ever a baby with anyone eles...

My best friend is having a baby boy...Her name is Lakeyshia(Keyshia for short) and her husbands name is Darrius. I missed my period in oct and now nov (due on 2nd of every month)...I thought my cycle was just jacked up due to stress since I just moved to Japan from america. Anyway I took a home test for pregnancy and turned up positive on oct 23rd. I still was in denial because im 28yrs old and tried to get pregnant for most of my adult life and it never happend.

Anyway here is the question... is my baby going to be healthy even though I smoked? I smoked throughout this entire 9 weeks and I feel like a loser, I hate myself right now, and I feel selfish and shouldve listened to my body telling me it was preggers. Will my baby be fine. I quit as soon as my blood test came back positive today. Help me, im having a hard time living with myself and I dont think this depression will subside because i Put the baby at risk in the name of a drag off a cig:(

Does anyone else feels this way? I am tired of paying for idiotic single "mothers" who did not use birth control and therefore I am having to pay for their mistakes. I am all for shutting down benefits to these brainless bimbos in the form of Medicaid. Does else agree? Today I was walking with my 4 year old. He pointed out this woman and said "look at that fancy mommy." I said "why is she fancy?" and Noah said "She has her hair and nails done, and she dresses pretty. She's fancy! Why can't you be fancy too? I like that kinda mommy better." I was CRUSHED!! Even though I said "well, some mommies are a little more plain. I don't need make-up to be pretty, right?" I swear I almost started crying. I had to bite my lip all the way home. I didn't think it was possible to be stung so bad by a child! Has your toddler or small child ever said anything to you that really got to you as well? What was it?
