Hello,
I had a misscarriage on the 19th of sep a blightmum ovary and now i found out last week that i'm pregnant again. I am so happy. But today i had aa ultrasound and they can only see a small sac about 6 wks old, no baby yet.
Is this tooo soon to tell?
Is the baby meant to be 6 wks along like the sac or could it be 4 or 5 weeks that's why they can't see it.
I really don't want this to be another blightum ovary.
What are the chances of having two in a row?
Has anyone been through ths and gone back in two weeks and seen there baby and it's heart beat?
Thanks

Hi
I misscarried in jan. I fell pregnant again in June and when I went for a scan at 6 weeks they could only see a sac, no baby. The doctor said it might just be and empty sac with no baby developing or too early. So I had to wait another 2 weeks and go for another scan. I was 8 weeks then and thankfully there was a baby with a heart beat. I am now almost 20 weeks pregnant and all is going well. The doctor said that the first scan I had at 6 weeks was just too early. So yes, it might just be too early for you too. Hope all goes well for you.

i have also experienced a miscarriage and had gotten pregnant again 3 months later, the doctors say your body needs time to heal when you miss-carry before getting pregnant again because of some risk factors, well now that I'm pregnant again I'm at high risk of another what the doctors call "spontaneous abortion" i have been in and out of the doc's office several times the first few visits were hard b/c they also told me that there was a yolk sack but no fetal pole, i also was around 4 to 6 weeks, well now im 8 1/2 weeks along still at high risk and on bed rest but there is a fetus and a strong heart beat, despite the fact of having a 4cm bleed above the sac where my baby is nested, so all i can tell you is take you prenatal vitamins, stay off you feet as much as possible, quit bad habits, and try to keep your self stress free. i really hope you the best of luck, and wish you and yours well

Try not to worry, when you go for the scan at 6 weeks it's so tiny they wouldnt be able to see the baby and yes it is possible that you are a bit earlier on in your pregnancy than expected. I only knew everything was ok with my bub cause he had a heart beat at 6 weeks, i have miscarried too, but sometimes the heartbeat cant be detected until 8 weeks it just depends on the baby.

Try and stay positive, i know it's hard when you have already had a difficult time with the first pregnancy but my fingers are crossed for you and i hope everything is ok this time. Best of luck and Hug's for you!!

You may have had late implantation is all. As long as he didnt say EMPTY sac, probably nothing to worry about. My guess is calculations are off, you ovulated late, implanted late (one or both) and are really only 4 or 5 weeks along.

Some women have numerious miscarriages for one reason or another, but typically, when someone has a miscarriage it is usually with their first pregnancy and later carries to term with out problems. Good luck.

A six week pregnancy is too tiny to see much more than the sac. Dont panic! The more you stress yourself out, the more likely you are to have problems with the pregnancy. Rest a lot, have faith in your body and believe in your heart that your little one will grow big and healthy within you.

I went thru this Mel. 1st one miscarried. Second one an empty sac on ultrasound and my Dr phoned me to tell me that meant no baby was in there. He was right. My 3rd pregnancy and 4th were a success. My prayers go out to you, and maybe baby is hiding behind the sac. Blighted ovum. My heartfelt prayers for you. ><>

If, at 8 weeks, your baby would be a little over half an inch (0.63 inch*) and would weigh considerably less than an ounce (0.04 ounce*), your baby is quite a bit bit smaller, and is too small to be seen on an ultrasound.

Be encouraged that if you feel fine, that is a good sign. Try to keep your mind on positive things, and not on your recent upsetting experience.

Hope I helped. God bless you.

So, being pregnant is measured by using the 1st day of your final era. subsequently, we've those 2 weeks the place we aren't extremely pregnant however the implantation/fertilization is occurring in those 2 weeks, so technically it is blanketed in being pregnant. So, in case you're gestationally at 6 weeks, the fetal progression is actual at 4 weeks.

Answer
At six weeks, the baby is fairly microscopic so he/she would not be particularly visible. You may want to check into why the ultrasound was necessary this early.

also can you get this done soon to allay your fears ? endovaginal scanning will detect cardi of the fetus before it is visible.

best of success to you

It's probably just too soon to see. Don't stress, get some rest and try to relax. I am sure if there was a problem they would have told you.
