My husband and I found out the sex of our baby for our second child due in November. We would like to keep the name a secret until birth...any suggestions on cute/fun ideas to share the name when the time comes?
Also trying to come up with a baby name that goes with Ava Madison (our 2 yr old first daughter) something girly...any suggestions would be appreciated....must go with O'Malley (last name). Thanks! :)

My son will be one year in about three weeks and I am not sure how to go about weening him. It took him and I about three months to get nursing down and now I am not sure how to go about stopping. Everyone else I've talked to said that their children weened themselves but I find that he is a bit addicted to the breast and I really just do it out of habit. He is drinking out of a sippy cup and he will take a bottle when he has a babysitter; but I am planning on going back to work and feel a year of nursing is enough. I do love breastfeeding and will be a little sad when we won't have that time together but practically speaking it can't go on forever; I've heard the longer you wait the harder it is. Can someone please give me some tips...I am willing to go gradually but not willing to nurse until he is 4! Thanks in advance;)

My 8 year old was diagnosed with adhd. I first caught wind of it when he was 4 but that was 2 young He is constantly on the go, can't sit still for more than 2-3mins, can't pay attention and it is affecting his school work (and some of his daily life) tremendously. He started his focalin today. I cried after giving it to him because I don't really believe in medicating children, and I didn't want to do it but I also know that he needs to calm down and focus in order to be able to do good in school. I tried everything from discipline, to buying him eyeglasses thinking maybe he had vision problems and couldn't see the board in school. I was basically trying to get around the truth, knowing what the real problem was. My question is has anybody had children or know anybody with children that have taken this med. Does it really help? Will his personality change? Does it actually calm kids down? Do they do better in school and home? Pls be nice. If u must be negative pls don't answer. Thanks

I'm fairly sure I'm pregnant (2 weakish positives), and to be honest I just don't know how to feel about it. I've already got 6 children, plus we have other foster kids quite often, my youngest was only adopted 2 months ago, he's only 11 months! Help, I'm kind of scared this time?

Aalicia Lynn

Jaidah Lynn

Please dont comment on spelling. That is the way it is going to be (for my own person reasons). Also, dont add your own names, it is out of the two. Im not looking for other suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Ok, I'm a parent of 6, I love my kids dearly, and I think they're basically great kids, and very well behaved.
But I also realise that they're kids, and all kids have their moments, none of them are ever perfect, and I personally wouldn't want mine to be!
So why do some parents consistantly turn a blind eye to their children's faults? Even if they just saw their child do something with their own eyes, they'll deny it. Has anyone else noticed this?

bedtime but he was little and we didn't really think about it. Now he's 2 1/2 and if he doesn't take a nap he'll go to bed at 8 or 8:30 but even if he takes an hour hour and a half nap (which is required he lay down at least that long at daycare) he is raring to go til 10:30 at night. He is always awake by no later than 7:30. It's getting tough because my husband and I never get any alone time. By the time our son goes to bed we're ready for bed too! Any helpful suggestions? And no, he doesn't eat candy all day or drink sugary drinks or any kind of pop with caffeine in it, if any at all.

"Which would be a better option, surgical abortion or the abortion pill? Does anyone know the physical and mental effects of each?"
It got reported and deleted. Why would someone do that? My best friend recently thought about either option, and I wanted to be able to be informed about both, so I could help her. I just wanted some personal experience. That was really mean!

I'm interested to know how much time other people spend playing with their young babies, and what games you play.

My little boy is 3 months old and I talk to him lots and sing nursery rhymes and other songs for him and play little games like 'this little piggy' and read him books and show him the pictures.
But sometimes I do just leave him to kick around on the floor and play with his toys. He seems happy doing this.

Should I be playing with him all the time he is awake? Or should I let him have some time to himself?

What do you do with your little one?

Ok, so i started what i thought was my period towards the end of june, i had been cramping for about a week before i started, well, when it finally came, i cramped for the first 4 days (which for me i only cramp the first day) i have now been on my period for 11 days, i am anemic, and havent been taking any iron, and am starting to notice bruises all over my body, my OB has told me that the period is from just starting a birth control pill (i did have a baby about 5 months ago)
I have had one post partum period on another pill (the mini pill) and it only lasted 4 days, no cramping, so why is this one so long, with such horiable cramping?
anyone else feel like this?

Theres all these people who sit around passing judgement on single moms, and I dont get it. Just because you do it the "right" way, what gives you any right to judge someone else?
Some of us dont chose to be single parents... I was with a sweet guy who I thought was a good person. I got pregnant, (not planned) and he ran away like a coward....
And you people who judge us single moms, do you have any idea how hard it is? Any idea how rewarding it is? Or any idea how strong it makes you??

A workmate had a one night stand with a guy three weeks ago.

She did not take the 21 day pill on the first day of her period, she took it 6 days later.

She has topld me today that she is 2 days late.

She also said she did not complete the whole packet of pill,s she cant remember how many pills were left.

She finished the pack on Friday gone, so, theoretically, she should have come on yesterday.

I have asked her to get a test.

What is the possibility that she could be pregnant.

Me and my b/f fight all the time. He cant handle my hormones making me tired or emotional. He makes me cry so hard that I get sick. I just want him to leave me alone for a while so I dont get that upset and harm the baby. But when I want that he says that I dont care. I do care, I just need to breathe or calm down because I get angy easily. I am 11 weeks pregnant and I need to know if I am harming the baby mentally or physically. Because if I am I really need to get out of this relationship for the sake of my child. Dont get me wrong I love this man, he just cant handle me being pregnant and a little more emotional and tired. Some advise from someone would really help me out.
