If the 24 year old child is "grown" then they can get their own place! If they continue to live with you, you get to make the rules!
At the time of the curfew turn on the alarm and change the code if need be. If you don't have an alarm immediately collect the keys for the house and inform the child the doors will lock at X:XX and if you're not in you'll have to find someplace else to sleep. If you go this route don't forget to change the code on the garage door if you have one.

Why are you trying to control a twenty four year old's bed time? That is a grown person. That person can drink and kill someone in a car, go to war for their country or prison for their crimes, if their free loading, don't set a curfew tell them to get out. If it's your kid and your just letting them stay with you cause you love them, then you need to respect the fact that they are twenty-four years old, and curfew's are for teen agers. If he's a crack head, you should know better then to set a dumb curfew, this person didn't listen the first time, when you said "say no to drugs."
controlling people need to relax.

This could be a concern for safety on your part, and I wouldn't blame you there. You don't want to have to go to bed at night worrying. I think at best a phone call to assure you that all is fine could be helpful. Maybe a talk to in order to address the issues here.

Not sure what your question is, but if you are living in someone else's house, you should follow their rules. You don't like the rules, then get your own place, where you can stay up until your eyes cross. Its called respect for those who are paying the bills if you obey their house rules. Your bills, your house, your rules.
