I want my husband to be with me during the child birth, but my mother in law keeps showing her disgusted face and offering advises for not having a man(my husband) in a delivery room! What should I do? I want my husband to be with me, but what if she does not let my husband to come in?

My baby will be 4 weeks on Saturday. Her sleeping schedule is usually pretty regular right now, she goes to bed around 9pm, wakes up around midnight for a feeding, again around 3-4, and again at 6. I'm wondering when your baby began sleeping for atleast 5-6 hours at a time or throughout the night? I know its early for me to even begin thinking about this fantasy lol, but I'd just like to know some stories. Thanks!

Not for sure on the first name yet. So far we're thinking Caleb or Merick. What are some middle names that would sound good with these?

Like 5-6 year olds. I never understood that one. My niece who is 6 carries around a Hello Kitty purse. I snatched it from her and asked "What have you got in here you little monkey"
She grabbed it back, kicked me in the leg and called me a poophead.

My son will be 10 weeks on Monday and I was planning on moving him into his big boy crib after I've been back to work for at least a month. He still isn't sleeping through the night.

Our little guy is one of the happiest babies you'll ever see. He smiles all of the time. My husband and I are super loving parents. We aren't over the top hovering parents, we make sure that our son gets enough independent play time, but also spend lots of time doing floor play, hugs and cuddles with him. What we don't do is carry him around all the time. This is why we are surprised that he wants to be carried by his caregiver all of the time when at her house. Today in fact, he was climbing up the caregivers legs and also the contractors working at her house. The stranger thing is that when they are out of the house he is fine, he's back to his happy self again and will crawl or creep away from her to go play with the other kids.

What can we do to stop this? She's at her wits end, and I'm so worried that there is something there that is scaring him.

Thanks!

I'd say a teacher, but it seems I have a problem with the school. Both with K-1st grade, they requested to hold my daughter behind. Yet she wasn't failing and we had no clue of any real issued untill the end of the year.
I had to request her to be tested for a learning disorder and an Individual Education Plan! When I first brought it up, I was told "lets hold her back and if she is still doing bad....then we'll test her".
Her father and I decided to let her continue to 2nd grade with now having an IEP plan. It just really makes me think poorly of the school when on almost the last day, when discussing the testing results and an IEP plan. I have everyone against my daughter going to the 2nd grade? Telling me she is young for her age?
When I feel they let her down by not addressing these issues much earlier on, and more agressively!

I am a senior in high school and just found out that i am pregnant?
Hi,I am going to be 18 years old in Novemeber and I just found out that I am pregnant.I am both excited and nervous at the same time! I am nervous because I am afraid that I won't make it to my graduation,or to my own graduation party.
I have a few jobs,I am a lifeguard,an EMT(emergency medical tech),and I work at another store.I
I am planning on moving back to my home in Chicago, and live in an apartment there, however I am planning on going to school to become a RN and a paramedic.I can tell that my adoptive parents don't want much more to do with me so I am not staying I am deffintley leaving.

My biological family are so great to me and I love them to death,I have a feeling that they may support me more now, even though they have 3 other children that currently live with them as well.

How could I go about finishing school, and being a good mom?

And please don't give me crap about being a pregnant teen and

My boyfriend and I will eventually get married and consider having a baby. We only want one, but would prefer it to be a boy. Of course we wouldn't be dissappointed if it were to be a girl. But what would be the chances of it being a boy or a girl. I have a brother and he has two brothers. Neither of us have any sisters. Would this increase the likelihood of having boy?

What has ever happened to the role of *Parents* in monitoring their children's reading and dealing with their emotions?
Are we supposed to leave all of this to "helplines" these days and what does that say about our Society never mind the type of books that our children are reading?
This is all that I can find on the subject so far -

I have 5 1/2 y.o boy / girl twins. Both above average intelligence. However my daughter is more than ready for 1st grade. She is currently at a 2nd grade level in math and reading. This fall, they will be old enough to attend 5 year old kindergarten by public school standards. My twins have been in a private montessori school since they were 3. Hayden is 'average' or maybe even slighlty below the other children his age at the school. He is not reading. There is no way he is ready for 1st grade. 5k may even be a challenge. Does anyone have any personal experience with twins being developmentally normal, but in different grades? I worry about his self esteem.

Seriously! A woman asked about this and I can't believe how many people are against it and say it's inhumane! What's inhumane, yes, are the people who use it to yank their kids around the mall with them. But if you're already holding their hand but you have the leash on JUST IN CASE they let go and run off, WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT?! I seriously do not see the harm in confirming your child's safety in a crowded place, where there are strangers everywhere. Any one person in that crowded place could just be looking for that one kid that gets away from his mom so they can snatch him up. So how would you feel if you were a person who bashed using the harness and then one day your kid got kidnapped in the mall? You'd feel pretty foolish, wouldn't you?

Has anyone ever used reusable diapers. At first it sounds good. But then I started thinking what if I'm out? I couldn't just stuff the used diaper in my diaper bag... ew. Then I was thinking maybe they should just be used for overnight or when you know you will only be at home. I just wanted to know how you used them and if you used only them or if you used both disposable and reusable. Thanks. Here's a site for the one's I'm looking at.
