My husband and I already celebrated my sons birthday with our families a week ago. We then have already got him a wagon. But today is his true birthday. Should we still do something special. If so what. I already know he wont know the difference for all you people out there that think this is dumb, but the thing is I will know the difference.

Do you use cotton balls and rubbing alcohol? I'm trying to make a list of everything I need for him when my baby boy gets here. I don't know if you use rubbing alcohol or what. Any suggestions?

My friend has three children, one boy aged 7 years, one aged 7 months, and a girl aged 4. The eldest boy has started to 'spy' on his parents whilst they are showering or changing, and my friend caught him telling his little sister to 'lick his bum', he has also started to touch himself, quite blatently infront of everyone.
Is this normal behaviour for a boy of his age... or is he a bit disturbed?

ok all you pregnant smart ladies....I"m 29 weeks, and I know that numbness in hands is pretty common, it's caused from swelling. basically pregnancy induced carpol tunnel. but, my hands are so numb and tingly all day today so far, and my hands are actually twitching, quite bad. it's actually hard to type. I've had numbness before and talked to my doc about it, but deffinetly not even close to this bad! I'm kinda wondering if any of you think I should take this more seriously, instead of just shruging it off and taking it as maybe high blood preasure, and swelling. what else do you think it could be caused from? I'm trying to drink lots of water today to get rid of it, and I even massaged my arms for while and even layed down, and nothing seems to be relieving the numbness.

I am 35 weeks pregnant and currently starting to ask my doctor about different things I can do while in labor. One thing, is being able to get up and walk around. I asked the nurse in my OB's office (I'm high risk because of diabetes) if I would be able to walk around during labor to help speed it up and help gravity naturally pull the baby down further. And also because I don't want to be tied to a bed the entire time. I want to be able to get a shower too. She told me that as soon as my water breaks I'm not allowed to get up and walk around because the baby could have a "cord prolapse". Now nothing else is wrong with me or my baby or his positioning, other than the fact I have diabetes. Is it normal for a doctor's office to not let you up and walk around once your water breaks because of this reason? I'm so mad now and dreading labor because I feel like it's gonna be a prison in there where I'm basically strapped to a bed the whole time. What are you thoughts?

My daughter is 2. For the past few days, everytime I change her diaper, the smell is so bad! She is getting plenty of fluids and even seems to be going to the bathroom more often. I noticed that her vaginal area is a little red, but it doesn't seem to bother her. She does have a little bit of a runny nose.

I am a stay at home mommy not only by choice but stay at home by default as well. I was in a terrible car accident 3 years ago that left me with nerve damage in my right arm and unable to work. I struggle with certain things and do house work at my own pace but ALWAYS, ALWAYS my home is spotless and little boy is healthy and happy. My husband works a good job, but financally we have been taken to our knees from my accident. (Still in litigation with the insurance company of the Tractor Trailer truck that hit me) I know that there is much stress in our marriage dealing with finances. Before the accident we always had. Now - we make it, but struggle. It just seems that my husband has no clue nor cares how hard I work making our house a home and raising our son. He comes home, does yard work occassionally and watches tv. Never really does anything to help, just tells me when 'the dryer went off'... or my son has a dirty diaper. He seems self-centered since my accident. Help?

So i know all about solids and when to introduce them and everything. I have read all these articles about babies not sleeping longer if they have cereal in their bottles at night. So why have i met so many people that say this helped their baby sleep? Tell me if you did it and at what age and what difference did it make?

my baby sleeps fine, so i'm not planning on it. i dont' think theres anything wrong with it, it's up to the parents, I just would like to see how many of you tried this with success :)

We have an 8 year old boy He is very bright, but he thinks he is smarter than we are. If I tell him some information he will come at me as if I am lying. We decided to home school the 2nd half this year, he has improved over many things. But when I assign him work he decides it's not what he is suppose to be doing. He honestly believes that his job in life is to irritate and cause trouble with the family (he saw this on TV and lives by it.) He can be very sensitive, and often has emotional breakdowns, but it is confused with extreme whining. We spend lots of time with him, but he requires more than anyone else in the home. We have 3 other children(girls). His new belief is that he is superior not only to his parents, but over women and other races. My husband and I are not this way. I think this idea may coming from another family member that he he does not see very often but has a strong influence on him, what this person says is gold. We are very consistent, nothing breaks the cycle

The world is so filled with sickos and predators that I am afraid for small children today. I am only 31 and it wasn't that long ago that I was a small chld myself outside playing, but the world has changed drastically since then. I cringe everytime I see a young child outside playing alone.
Last week my god son's mother was about to send her 6 year old son to her car by himself with the keys to get something out of the backseat. I fussed at her because I didn't feel that this was safe. They live in an apartment complex and who knows what kind of sickos could be out there lurking waiting for a child with keys in hand to snatch and take away. She listened to me and escorted him out to the car but what if I wouldn't have been there? Do you think it is ok for young child to be outside alone?? Am I too paranoid?? All insite and opinions welcomed on this one.
