You are aloud to have SOME caffine during pregnancy. Sure, none would obviously be best. But 200 mgs or under won't cause any damage or birthday defects. Personally though, I think you should mind your own business. If you see her start downing a bottle of Jack, then you can say something but it really has nothing to do with you. I am 25 weeks pregnant and HATE it when people look at my funny when I am getting a cappachino in the morning (like i said, SOME caffine is ok.) my doctor knows I have one a couple days a week and said it's perfectly fine. and I literally wanted to hit this guy I work with when I went back for an extra piece of birthday cake and he said "are you sure you should be eating that?". So back off.. she knows more about her pregnancy than you do.

I don't drink milk either and was worried about getting enough calcium for my baby. My OB said to eat a Tums once a day to get the calcium that I and my baby needed. It was a natural fit when I was pregnant because, especially in the later months, I had terrible heartburn.

Some juices have calcium added, and some nuts have calcium as well. None of them are as good as milk or other dairy products. So you can use cheese or cream if you want. If you are a vegan, you are out of luck on that, but that you eat ice cream suggests you are not a vegan. You can also take calcium tablets.

Most important to take your prenatal vitamins daily to make sure you get the supplements you need. Also, eat cheese if you dont like milk. I'm right there with you as for not liking to drink milk but since your pregnant you cant just think about you anymore.

You should try those calcium supplements - they're called Viactiv (sp?). They are inteh vitamin section, they taste very good. I would eat them regulalry, but they are a little pricey. Being pregnant, though, you should definitely be taking something if you're not having milk.
Good luck!

I am not a milk drinker either, and I did just fine while pregnant. As long as you are taking your prenatal vitamins you should be fine.
Sometimes you can find juice and other things that have extra calcium in it if you want a little more help in the area

You can drink calcium fortified orange juice, or you can try soy milk. Also, you can actually buy calcium in liquid form from a pharmacy and simply add it to whatever drink you prefer.
Also, try yogurt as a source of calcium.

Just make sure to keep taking your prenatals. I craved milk when I was prego...so I never had a problem but read the ingredients in your prenatals. I think you should be fine! Your baby will just take the calcium from your bones that it needs. Your bones could become brittle. Try to have one glass a day. Pinch your nose and swallow!
Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!
