ok all you pregnant smart ladies....I"m 29 weeks, and I know that numbness in hands is pretty common, it's caused from swelling. basically pregnancy induced carpol tunnel. but, my hands are so numb and tingly all day today so far, and my hands are actually twitching, quite bad. it's actually hard to type. I've had numbness before and talked to my doc about it, but deffinetly not even close to this bad! I'm kinda wondering if any of you think I should take this more seriously, instead of just shruging it off and taking it as maybe high blood preasure, and swelling. what else do you think it could be caused from? I'm trying to drink lots of water today to get rid of it, and I even massaged my arms for while and even layed down, and nothing seems to be relieving the numbness.

I wore one those carpel tunnel braces and it helped alot. I only wore it on days that it was bothering me really bad.

This happened to me when I was pregnant with my son so I will tell you what the doctor told me to do.

Take off all jewelry, stop typing for a while, drink plenty of water and have a glass or two of juice (anything you like) and rest.

Now after having said that, call your Doctor. You should be seen and they told me it was due to the heat. Some days it bothered me and some days it didn't.

Better safe than sorry for your babies sake is the best way to go.

Good luck and I hope you feel better.....

i could be from a number of things but if it's really bad, talk to your doc about it. & i'm not so sure about the massage thing. my hands go to sleep and i was told before not to massage numb areas because it could cause nerve damage. i would ask your doc to be on the safe side. good luck!

Are you wearing any jewelry? Take it off if you are. Even if it is a wedding ring. Believe me he will forgive you. If you aren't they maybe get into a hot bath. That should relax your muscles. If it persist for another two hours I would go to the doctor. I have never heard of it being that bad. I hope you are OK.

im not sure but i experience that in my feet.. lol..
and i think you should call your dr...
i dont experience it as frequent tho..
but i dont know.. call your dr and tell him/her...
and see what they tell you...
maybe you should take a relaxing bath?..
or try to keep your hands and arms moving..
i noticed that my feet start to tingle when i am sitting down for a long period... and as soon as i get up and walk around it goes away..
so just try and help the blood flow ..
good luck

PS.. IM 29 WEEKS TODAY!!
