At this age they are into noisy things. My daughter loved car keys and cell phones and anything mommy had. Go to target adn they have the Parent's brands.. some of the best toys that have lasted for us are the baby ipod that sings childrens songs and the keys. They are the best. The only ones she wants.

Most little boys love John Deere tractor stuff. There is a really cute john deere tractor ride on toy that they scoot around on with their feet. My little boy got one of these and he loved it! Both my boys also loved the little matchbox cars by the time they turned one. You could get him one of those rugs with the roads all over it. Or you could get him some sort of outdoor play thing, like a slide or something. I personally love to buy the outdoor stuff b/c boys usually love to go outside and I love that they like to go outside, it is just so good for them. Good Luck on the shopping.

He'll get so many toys so why don't you get him something that he will appreciate later on in life... like buy him stocks in some company that might interest him as he grows up... so he can watch what the stock do. Like Pepsi, sony or something like that tends to be popular with kids. You can add to it every year if you want.

my girls loved a thing from fischer price called a "pound a ball" it has four colored balls, blue, green, yellow and red, with a little blue hammer with a yellow head. they pound the balls down and the balls travel down a little ramp and come out the bottom.
great way to teach colors to them too. i used to say 'ok, now, let's pound the blue ball, etc.." and they learned their colors very quickly.
plus, they used it all of the time. it was great fun.
