I worked full time during my first trimester and was sick all day every day. There is medicine a doctor can prescribe if you really need it. I didn't ask for it, but I have heard of women taking it. It is expensive though and I don't think it is completely covered by insurance. But again, I am not sure because I didn't take it. What worked for me was sucking it up and being sick lol. But also those pregnancy lollipops and candies. You can find them at Motherhood, Mimi Maternity, and other maternity clothing stores as well as babies r us and buy buy baby.

First, your doctor can prescribe you something to help & since you work I would recommend you ask for it ASAP.
Before I would even get out of bed I would eat some crackers I kept by my bed. Then I would drink a small class of ginger ale, which I would shave fresh ginger in. Also, fresh ginger in decaf tea helped.
Taking a shower in the morning would make me get dizzy, so as much as I hated it I would shower in the evening. I changed my toothpaste to a non-mint flavor. The mint would make my stomach upset.
I also used the seabands in the car when I would often get car sick & they helped about 1/2 the time, but it was worth it since I was getting sick before I would pull out of my driveway.
Another thing I did was take a sports water bottle filled with ice cold water with me everywhere and if I wasn't drinking it I was putting it on my forehead or on the back of my neck to keep cool.
Stay away from greasy foods or foods that are difficult to digest. Good luck, most people get over morning sickness by the 12th-14th week, so hopefully that goes for you too.

A simple thing that might help is to make sure you take your prenatal vitamin with food. I got very sick from taking one on an empty stomach, threw up all day.
There are meds that help I'm sure and if your sicker than usual, you should give your dr a call to let them know, if its not the norm for you the Dr. might want to check and make sure everythings o.k.
Everyone's pregnancy is different. I believe that the childs preferences for foods/allergies comes into play. When I was pregnant with my youngest I couldnt eat meat, the thought of it made me sick, I basically lived on granola bars cause most food repulsed me. Now my daughter is 6 and she is a VERY picky eater! She doesnt eat any meats and has a limited diet, when she was a baby she had a very sensitive tummy also, so some of it may be allergies to food.
I have a friend who was extremely sick during her preg. and now her daughter is allergic to all kinds of foods, theres a connection there.
So listening to your body and eat what sounds good. Itll help. Dont take anything over the counter for nausea til you talk to your dr, they could contain asprin which you shouldnt have.
I wish you a happy and healthy baby!

for my wife, when it got really bad, I boiled white rice and she sipped the water used and ate very lightly of the rice. As for the Doctor, heck yes, there are all kinds of things for nausea that won't harm the baby. I believe Anti-Vert (meclazine) is one, it's over the counter so just check with the pharmacist and let him know your preggers. There are also some injections like Kefergot (not sure of the spelling) that work rapidly. Just check with the doc for your baby's safety. No need to suffer that badly just cuz of being preggers. Good luck and hope you have a healty happy bundle of joy!!

My doctor gave me a prescription for Zofran and Phenergan. Also the prenatal Premesis RX as stuff in it to help with nausea. You can also try sea bands. You wear them on your wrist and can get them from CVS or Walmart.
The Zofran has an generic, but if you get the real stuff it is expensive. It is about $800 for like 22 pills. I have had this and it works wonders if you are that bad off. It was worth it for me.

iced tea. not like the mix from powder that you have to mix with water (because water just does NOT sit well in my stomach at all, whether i feel sick or not), but store-bought iced tea. it is quite literally the only thing that i can drink, and the only thing that makes me feel better... and its not even drastically better.
just listen to your body. if you start craving something, chances are you can probably keep it down in small bits. that worked for me, too. i'm still in my 1st trimester, so i'm still dealing with nausea and sickness... it's not fun at all, but at least i don't work full time.
Good luck and I hope you find some relief and feel better soon!

I hated that soooooooo much during my pregnancy. My mom told me to eat a slice of bread, which I did and it worked for the most part. Crackers and ginger ale is a good way to go to.

Yes, the doctor can give you a shot and presbribe something that helps. I was so sick with my first pregnancy that eventually I got really dehydrated cause I couldn't keep water down and so I went in and they gave me a shot and prescribed something else and I felt alot better. I was still sick here and ther but it wasn't the same as before.

Some days being pregnant is like that and it's no fun! The doctor may be able to give you medication to assist with the nausea if you aren't doing better tomorrow.
