I read somewhere that people getting married would get a blood test done before the wedding, something to do with their future children. I don't know if this still goes on. But what was the reason for doing so?
My mother is O pos and my father was B pos. I have B pos and my sister has O neg. We still don't know where the neg came from exactly. My husband doesn't know what his type is so we don't know our son's type either. I only know mine as I donate blood and found out that way.

I have a 3 year old nephew who is so very naughty and my sister is so stressed out trying to handle him. He hits her, yells at her and, well you name it he does it. It's like watching the nanny live. I don't know what to tell her or how to help her. I have 3 children and 39 weekd preg. with my 4th, but my kids never behaved the way my nephew does. Any ideas about how she should handle him?

My daughter gets sick alot but it is like the flu but she used to get sick like this every three months and then it went to like every two months and now like every other week. She throws up for at least 6 days straight and doesn't eat or anything else. Some times she gets diarreha (sorry spelled wrong) and it is like every couple of hours and she is only 2 1/2. Is this something serious? And she usually has a fever. Everytime I call the emergency room they say it could just be the flu but I also tell them that this happens alot.

I am 13 weeks pregnant. I have been feeling almost like a pulsation that doesn't hurt from my lower abdomen almost to my vaginal area. It does not hurt exactly but is really scary feeling. I thought you wouldn't feel braxton hicks. They are not that often though but I was wondering whether I need to go to the er. I am not crampy exactly. Although here lately I've been getting crampy on one side but even that is not severe. It's probably caused from the stretching. I had a miscarriage long ago but it was the very beginning of pregnancy. Should I be worried. I go Feb 21st to a doctor but I needed to know your opinions. I don't want to go if it is not a legitamate scare, but I've never heard of having contractions this early. It kind of scares me.

It seems to me the top baby girl names like Sopia, Emma, Olivia, Ella, Sarah, and Abigail are old-fashioned names - they are just really popular so no one looks at them as old-fashioned anymore. I have always been drawn to older names but now that I'm having children my lifelong favorites that my friends used to make fun of me over are now their kids names! So, I'm now going even further "out of the box" and looking for something pretty and feminine but a bit different. Some on my list that I like are Millicent, Evelyn and Genevieve. (you can see what I mean) I'm still trying to find the one name that I love - do you know of any different old-fashioned names that are not super popular?

Ok guys with today I'll be four days late on my period. This morning I started getting mild cramps, which usually happens before my period, however, I did not start my period. Just incase I did started I was wearing a pad all day long. Every time I changed it there was only very light brown discharge which I get at the end of my periods. What can this mean? Well, I'm going to go to the doctor on Friday but maybe someone knows whats going on and I can find something out before Friday. Can this still mean I can be pregnant?

I just asked this question but only got one answer. So I am trying again. When I was on the pill before I got pregnant I really didn't have any side effects what so ever but know I am on the same pill that I was on but I have been moody and emotional. Is is possible that since I was pregnant, that the pills would have a different effect on me know post pregnancy? I hope this wasn't too confusing. ( I had my baby 5months ago) Thanks for the help.

Is it a normal behavior for a teething baby to push the bottle away? I thought that the counter-pressure felt good on their sore gums. She has been doing this for days now...barely drinking half of her bottle at each feeding. I've tried refrigerating the bottle, also warming it. She just doesn't want it...she's got to be hungry. Her teeth are starting to erupt through the gums now, should her pain last much longer? Will she be more eager to eat once her teeth are through, or are they still going to cause pain for a while? I've tried it all (oragel, tylenol, refrigerated teething toys, cold washcloths, rubbing her gums) and nothing seems to help. She is very big for her age, so her decreased appetite worries me. As a first time mom, any advise would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

I am asking because i believe you want to be able to talk to their father. Too many step moms try to take control away from father over concerns for their step children.
I am sure there are exceptions, but I am talking to moms who are involved with their children.
Do you feel less threatened by step moms who are willing to let you work out problems with children with their father?

My friend told me that since I haven't had my period for about 3 months and my pregnancy urine test are all neg that there is still a chance that i could be pregnant. That my body could be changing/ reproducing and that I should get a blood test and I dont know for sure. But I remember getting a gyn exam and they checked to see if I was through the exam but no blood test, but is it still possible???

My husband and I are expecting our second baby this summer. We have a son named George. We generally like tradtional and classic names. We fell in love with the name Beatrix. We also love the nickname Trixie. However, EVERYONE we tell this name to says that Trixie is the name of a stripper or a prostitute. Do you agree?

Ok this is a tough one for me and i need a good answer.. I just had a new baby girl she is 1 month old, I changed her from milk formula to soy cause i couldnt fig out why she was crying so much (with my drs permission) i was really thinkin it was colic cause it usually starts in the evening and lasts 4 hrs with nothing calming her down .. but in the daytime hrs she crys all day and she Will calm down if she is held 24/7 .. i just cant do it cause i have a 2 year old that needs my attention just as well.... what i need to know is.. is it ok to let a 1 month old cry a little instead of having her in my arms all day and not being able to give my other child the attention he needs .. if u can let her cry how long in both situations- the colic at night and the needy baby in the day..please please help!
