Our 10 month old daughter has not developed the pincer grasp yet and it worries me a little. She can pick up anything, doesn't have any sort of delays in any other areas, but cannot, for instance, get a cheerio from her hand to mouth. Everything ELSE goes to the mouth, like eating a piece of toast, crackers, etc. She CAN pick it up, but she just just uses all fingers and palms it ... she can get it up to her mouth and release it, but drops it. Almost every baby book (gotta HATE those) say that she should have been able to do this (like around 8-9 months), but she just hasn't mastered it. I'm not TRYING to worry or hurry her, but need a little reassurance!!! Thanks!

I am about 6-8 weeks pregnant and I am EXAUSTED!!! I have been pregnant 3 other times and don't ever remember being this tired. I am almost falling asleep typing this...at the same time this is the only thing keeping me awake here at work right now.

I am currently 18 days late...i have noticed that my nipples have turned darker and the skin around them has bumps on it. I have taken 4 home tests and they were all negative. I don't have any other symptoms of pregnancy but I was wondering if anyone has had this happen or knows what i should do besides get a blood test?

I'm 37 weeks with my second and this pregnancy has been so different then my first. I'm sure the labor will start completely different. Today I actually have been feeling a lot of pressure in my whole belly, on and off back pain and some cramping thats pretty low (which I've menstral like cramps the entire pregnancy so for me it's new). With my first baby I knew labor was starting because my water broke. Just wondering what second time mothers experianced the second time around when their labor began. How did it start? What did you feel? How long before you knew it was truly labor? Thanks a bunch in advance!

I am a teacher and I have at least 4 kids with the same ame in my class this year...If i want something more unique for my own child should i look otherwise? or shouldnt it matter??

if you arent sure what it is, its when the placenta is partially or completely covering the cervix, mine is completely covering i am 14 weeks now, will it move? will i have to have a c section if it doesnt?

I had sex about a month ago on December 10th. My period was due that thursday/friday (15th). It did not come. On that friday(15th) i had nausea and sore breasts. The nausea lasted 2 days and the sore breasts lasted for 5 days (they did grow and are still that size). I took a pregnancy test when i was 2-3 days late and came up negative(17th). 9 days after intercourse i felt a pain in my lower left abdomen that lasted for about 6 or 7 hours then i never felt again. After about 5 days of having sore breasts and nausea, my symptoms went away completely and that next thursday (1 week late for my period and 11 days after intercourse) i bled on the heavier side for 2 days and the period or implantation bleeding stopped after 6 days total. It has now been over 4 weeks... i have no pregnancy symptoms whatsoever, i am not tired.. only when i work and the only thing i have are headaches which i have always had even before now. i know the best thing is to take a test.. i just want an opinion.

He is 16 months old. It's mostly the way he plays. He loves climbing chairs and ripping every bit of paper he can get his hands on, and his sister's pictures and paper dolls. He also loves to bang and hit everything. I had girls so I don't know what to tell my daughter when she questions if this is normal behavior for his age. Any opinions? Please don't answer with suggestions of how to keep things out of his reach, I want to know if the behavior is age appropriate or not. Thanks.

I have hypothyroidism, and they didn't find out until AFTER the baby was born. I had severe preeclampsia. I am getting ready to get pregnant again, and am on synthroid, but still worry that preeclampsia could happen again, earlier and more severe.

Should I look for a "high risk" obgyn this time?

Please don't tell me to see the doc....I am going to my doc this afternoon. I just want to hear the experiences of other women or their families.

I have no problem dropping off to sleep at night but after a few hours i wake up and cant go back to sleep. My baby has been sleeping thru for 3months so i have no reason to wake up. I have started taking anti depressants because i was feeling so low and thought they may help my insomnia because when i wake i cant stop thinking about nothing. How can i stay asleep? What may be causing it?

I'm at a crossroads. My 6 yr. old son is a very smart outgoing boy that is well mannered at school, but not so well mannered at home. He's the only child and in the last 2 years he has had to be yelled at to get something done. We live with my Mom and have been since he was born. She really dislikes when I have to discipline my son and she tries to step in and figure out ways to make him not cry. This, I think, is hindering him. I want to be more strict with him because he's really becoming one of those children that whines, complains and talks back about everything. He never does a task the 1st time I ask. I think it's because he's gotten used to being asked 3 and 4 times and I need to put an end to that. It's making getting up in the morning very stressful. Of course, after any of these arguments, my son is perfectly fine and dandy and my Mom and I are very upset.
