Nope. Even weight watchers will tell you that. You can't diet while pregnant. If you are on their program and you are pregnant they will suspend your account and give you 2 months after the baby is born to come back in and start again. Then just start paying your weekly fees again. Also.. they DO have a program for nursing moms so keep that in mind. No dieting mommy. Baby needs the extra weight. They can't draw off of your stores like you can. Sorry.

You must talk to your OB first but I don't see why not. Weight Watchers is all about balanced nutrition and eating right. Just make sure that you are eating enough calories to support you and the baby. I'd only follow Weight Watchers if I were already established. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater so to speak. If you have begun following a good balanced nutrition plan then you should be able to stick with it, with clearance from your doctor.
If you have been on Weight Watchers for a while then it shouldn't be much of an issue. HOWEVER IF YOU ARE TRYING TO KEEP YOUR WEIGHT DOWN FOR NOTHING MORE THAN VANITY'S SAKE; THERE IS PLENTY OF TIME FOR THAT AFTER YOU HAVE THE BABY.
Be careful , be wise and talk to your doctor. Dieting while pregnant can be a bad idea. The best thing to do is eat sendibly.

I would think that the Weight Watchers principles would be fine to follow while you're pregnant. It is all about healthy eating and portion control. I would allow yourself a few extra points and make sure you are taking all the necessary supplements. But of course, speak with your doctor first. Weight Watchers is a very balanced diet so you wouldn't be depriving yourself of anything. It might also help you to not over-gain as many women do when they are pregnant.

I would consult your doctor. You are NOT suppose to diet while you are pregnant. However, the whole eating for two thing is a myth. You don't need to double your calorie intake, you will need about 300 extra calories a day though. If you don't eat enough the baby will just take the nutrients it needs from you (i.e. it is possible for a pregnant woman to lose weight, but it not recommended, see mayoclinic resource below as to why).
However, if you are using weight watchers as a way to eat healthier and NOT diet I don't see where that would be bad (except they don't except pregnant women). You might just want to try to eat healthier in general and not worry about weight watchers until after the baby is born.
See some extra resources below (ALL of them are good, so please check them all out). Good Luck!

I am a Labor and Delivery RN, and you absolutley should not follow any kind of weight loss diet while pregnant. You are eating for two now and the first trimester is when the vital organs are developing, your baby needs for you to have a well balanced diet. Gaining weight is normal in pregnancy, 25-35 pounds, if you are worried about your prepregnancy weight or gaining too much weight in pregnany, then just stick to a well balanced diet. I just had a baby 6 weeks ago and I am trying to follow my own advise to loose the weight, it's hard! Good luck and congratulations!

Never diet while pregnant. Weight Watchers foods are designed to have the nutrients an adult needs with less calories. You need more calories and more vitamins and minerals. Worry about the weight later...breastfeeding helps your body get back to normal faster. And exercising with your baby/toddler is great fun! Good luck and congratulations!

It is dangerous to lose weight while you are pregnant and weight watchers won't let you join if you are pregnant anyway. Wait until you have the baby and then worry about it.

I don't think that it would hurt, but you really need to ask the doctor. I have read in magazines that a pregnant woman actually needs only 300 more calories in addition to what she already eats for the baby. Still, it never hurts to ask.

No, you're not supposed to be dieting while pregnant. The idea is to gain weight unless you are already morbidly obese and then you'll want to either maintain or lose under your doctor's supervision. Just use common sense when picking what foods to eat...

your best option would be to talk to your weight watchers trainer and your doctor just to be on the safe side
