Pregnancy & Parenting - 11 January 2007

Please tell me if you came across anything similar. My 18 mo. old had back to back ear infection for more than 3 weeks in a row and she is on antibiotics. She lost 2 lbs in 3 weeks and I am struggling to feed her and make her feel better. Without food how can she gain energy? What can I do?

alright see im having a baby here in a couple weeks. and i have to fill out her birth certificit. & i think i am giving her both mine and her fathers last name, just not his or mine.. we arent married and no longer are dating and i thought that both of us should have our names with hers...fair enough.. but me and the father have talked about taking a break and seeing down the road if we want to be together, but if me & him end up getting married or i get married to someone else, how much would it cost to get my daughters last name changed perminetly at the court house.

i know it can be done, and i know there is a fee but im not sure what the fee is..

My husband has had custody of his daughter since she was 7. At the age of 16 she announced she wanted to live with her mother. We were not too thrilled about the decision but understood her need to want to bond with her mom. At 17 she decided to come back and finish her last year of high school with us. When we asked “why” she said she “didn’t connect well with the community” where her mother lives. We’ve been talking a lot about college these days and agreed we can afford to pay 50% and she should get the other 50% from her mom (who make the same amount of money we do). Well she came back from visiting her mom over the holidays and now she wants to go to college in the same town her mother lives and her mom can’t afford to pay anything for college so she will have to get the money from us or a student loan.

Base on the online Ovulation calculators I should be ovulating today or tomorrow. My last period started Dec 25, during the night, which has came 32 apart. I have stop the b/c pill on Oct 21, but if I am ovulating now, wouldn't I have more discarge? It seem like I haven't had any these past few days, but right around this time every month my nipples get very sensitive. I am trying to get PG but I have had NO luck, wondering if there is something wrong with me, or my hubby. I do have a 5 year daugther, but from a pervious relationship. Will I ever get PG?

I know its a natural process but if anything would help me prepare for my baby and my wife, I would really appreciate it.
Most of my folks in my country are very outdated. I dared not take their advice and I'm the first one to get married among my friends and my siblings.

Okay my first pregnancy was great, no sickness, not so much breast tenderness and/or development, gained 40 lbs (oops), was all round in the belly, no ache, etc. The heartbeat was about 130. It was a boy.

My second is total opposite of what I mentioned above.... I know every pregnancy is different but does that mean maybe girl??? The heartbeat is about 150-160 every visit. I have a US tommorrow but was just curious.

Im a nanny for a 2 yr old & a 4 mo. old. Im with them 12 hours a day, 5 days a week. As much as I absolutely love them both the baby is already very spoiled. I never thought babies were "spoiled" & what I mean by this is that her parents hold her all day, they hate when she cries so they wont let her & pick her up. So now during the day when I have her if I put her down anywhere she screams & gets herself all overworked so fast & the second I pick her up she stops...Im talking immediately. I feel bad and of course dont want her to cry but I cant do that 12 hours a day & its not fair to the 2 yr old. When she naps during the day she needs to be rocked to sleep or constantly bounced in her seat until shes out cold and even then every little noise startles her, I try to leave the tv always on or some noise so she gets used to it, but I dont know what Im supposed to do about her crying unless shes being held...

My husband and I both agree we want 1 or 2 more kids, but I'm not sure exactly how to space them and if I want 4 kids or 5 kids. We have 3 girls all 20 months apart. I planned it that way so they could be close. But now I'm going crazy and couldn't imagine getting pregnant again until the youngest is at least 2-3 years old. But I'm afraid that if we stopped at 4 with the youngest 3 or more years apart from the other 3, that he/she would be left out and spoiled. So I feel unless we go on to have a 5th child within 2 years after the 4th, that we would have behavior problems. So should I plan on having 5 kids or should I just have 4 kids? And if I only have 4, should I just bite the bullet and have the 4th 20 months apart like the others. Or would it be okay to have the youngest spaced further apart from the others? Yes, this may sound crazy, I'm a little weird about planning things. I just want to know what others think or would do in this situation or any personal experiences.

and try to pick her up thing. We are just looking for something to spice thing up a little. Wife and I are thinking about trying this. You, at least we have heard about it alot. We are trying to set the ground rules. Not waring wedding rings, can we talk/dance with others. This seems so simple when first brought up but there are lots of things to talk about first. My son is turning a year old this month. I can't think of any cheap ideas about having a party for him. There is a lot of tension between my parents and my in laws so i want to try to have it at a neutral place. But i can't have it at my house because my house is too small. There's really not a lot of places to have birthday parties for children in my hometown. Also, it's January so it's still too chilly outside to do anything outside. What should i do?

Hello ladies! Im really wanting a natural birth (i.e. NO epidural) I will take some pain medication and i dont care about having an IV or not. My problem is my IN LAWS (sisters 3 of them) have all had babies and each had epidurals. They told me ill never make it and they said the same thing.......but that its not the ice age anymore they dont care what anyone says the epidural is better......Anyone have any words of encouragment or what i can say back to them?

Me and my boyfriend have recently been thinking about having a child. We had unprotected sex right around the time i was ovulating, but i don't feel pregnant at all and i should be one month on saturday!! we have unprotected sex all the time, but it doesn't seem to work. or not yet anyway. i think i should go and see a doctor about possible fertility issues. how long did it take YOU to get pregnant?

When did u start feeling symptoms of being pregnant?. I was pregnant once before and i felt crappy, tired and my boobs were sore.. i lost that one to a late miscarriage and i wanna get pregnant again. For women that had more then one child was every pregnancy different? or Were the symptoms all the same? Right now I am feeling tired but having a hard time falling a sleep some nights, my boobs are a little sore but not as sore as the first pregnancy and just overall crappy. what do u think? I am living in the Middle East, and am American. She is from the Middle East. However, I could have gotten my girlfriend pregnant. We did not have sex and she's a virgin. She says she could have lost her virginity by using tampons, and masturbation. She has also put her finger inside herself. We were messing around without condoms and we were completely naked. She is taking a medicine called progyluton for irregular periods and today she is supposed to get her periods. However she hasn't gotten it. She is 17 turning 18 and I am 19. The law here forbids premaritial sex and has a very tough law towards it. Abortion is also illegal here. Please suggest!!!! we are both very freaked out as we can both end up serving time.

I noticed that the stores are selling formula for 12-24 month olds. I didn't think babies needed the formula past 12 months. Shouldn't they just have regular milk and dairy products after they turn a year old?
