My son is turning a year old this month. I can't think of any cheap ideas about having a party for him. There is a lot of tension between my parents and my in laws so i want to try to have it at a neutral place. But i can't have it at my house because my house is too small. There's really not a lot of places to have birthday parties for children in my hometown. Also, it's January so it's still too chilly outside to do anything outside. What should i do?

Maybe you could go to like a restaraunt or something. Even if you dont like McDonalds, every little kid has to have a McDonald's party once in their life! Jus go there or something like that. Your son isnt gonna care. he is ONE!!! lol Just have tonz of fun no matter what. GOOD LUCK!!!

well my family and I have burnt bridges, but it is tradition to have the first birthday at my mom's house. You just can't have a cheap birthday at a place that isn't yours or families. My house is small, but I would invite people to my house, but our kitchen walls are ugly, until I paint them. Just go to party city or the dollar store and buy plates/ spoons/ forks, and make the food yourself. I also went to a party that was at gymboore and the woman wasn't a member.

He's too young and won't remember it anyway. Maybe you can all get together at a casual restaurant and celebrate.
