my daughters 3 4 and 6 are getting there ears peirced today and we do not believe in gun peircings. How do they do the needles do they just stick it in? OW!

I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes during my eigth week of pregnancy. They said because I had pre-existing diabetes before the pregnancy and I didn't know it, the baby could possibly have skeletal/nuerological defects because of the high blood sugar levels. I didn't know I was diabetic until December 8th, 2006 and had a 5 day hospital stay. I'm now regularly taking insulin, but my sugar levels still really aren't balanced that well. I do eat a good diet. Every ultra sound they've seen sai the baby looked great, (got U>S. pic evaluated by 3 different doctor's) and I'm going on January 18 for my 15 week ultrasound. Frankly, I'm scared for this baby. I don't drink, I don't smoke. I eat good, but the whole diabetes thing makes me so fearful for the future. I'm SO excited to be pregnant, but when I see all these pictures of healthy babies, I'm scared when my baby comes out, it won't look like a normal, healthy baby and I'll reject it. How do I cope with these feelings?

I still have a week more to go before i can test to see if im not but i was wondering did anyone get sym. already or some kind of tell that they were preggo...and also are there test that you can take to see if you are or not....i will be taking first response in a week and that is couples days before my period is due so that means i am wayyyy to early to tell.

My sister Allison is really bad. She throws herself on to the ground and if she doesn't like anything you give her she throws it. What should I do to calm her down. My mom and friends say since I have a sister with a brain injury and they have to go to speech everyday and she doesn't have know one to play with.... is that right? And shes 2 years old is that just a phase?

My son is 7 yrs old and has never met or spoken to his father.His father and i married when i was 21 and had just graduated from college.His father was 23 yr old Australian pro-surfer.I fell head over feet for but we seperated after a year of marriage.I shortly after found out i was pregnant with his son so i went and contacted him to inform him.He attended his sons birth and stuck around after for a little bit but we could not agree on anything so we split up.He moved back to Australia and i traveled to England for work and lived there for 6 months.I have traveled all over Europe for work with my son who is almost 7 now.His dad all of a sudden wrote to me stating that he wants visitation rights or co-custody?His dad did did call me everyonce in a while to check on my son but never spoke to him though.He sent gifts to my parents house that my son did recieve orth a total of 620 dollars but no child support.

im on the pill but since being on it havent had a period so im just goign to say that it isnt working. i had sex dec30th for the first time. it is now jan 8th. how do i know when im supposed to ovulate so i can check my likely hood of being pregnant? i just dont understand the whole 14 day thing. please explain?

My son is 8 months old and used to sleep in his swing, until about a week ago, and we have started trying to let him cry it out. He sleeps great at night, no problems, but his naps are awful. He goes down fine, but wakes up from his second, usually longer nap, within 30 minutes (instead of the usual 2 hours) crying. We have tried shhhhsing, patting, going in periodically, physically laying him back down, but nothing works. Yesterday I let him cry it out after waking, he cried on and off for about 40 minutes, and then went back to sleep for another 1 1/2 hours. Today, my mom, his nana is watching him while I work and she called and said he has been crying for almost an hour. My question is for those of you who used this method..how long did you let your child cry at one time? How many days/weeks did it take for your child to stop waking and crying for so long? Help, please I am very stressed! Please, do not post message discouring CIO because I am already stressed enough.

My baby has been balling up lately. That's normal, right? With me being 31 weeks? I thought so, just curious and one more thing.. I have this pain on my right side.. near my ribs, I know it's not the baby because I've felt him in my ribs before. What could that be? And one more thing.. :) What position is the baby usually in at 31 weeks, Has he turned already? when do women usually feel their baby, "Flip" and all that? I feel him kick ALL the time just don't know what else to look or feel for? Thanks a bunch!

My daughter sleeps in her pack and play every night. I wanted to keep he in our bedroom the first few months and recently I decided to let her sleep in her own room in her crib, but she will only stay asleep for about 30 mins in it. In her pack and play she will sleep the whole night. Do you have any suggestions on how to make her feel comfortable in her crib?

Okay, so my son is 4 months old, he was born 8 weeks premature and had a rough start in life. My new niece was born 13 weeks premature, she's still in the hospital but doing great. She's off of the ventilator and breathing on her own...anyway...my issue is that, my parents house is flooded with pictures of my new niece, but not one is up of my son. I'm talking they have pictures on the walls, on the fridge, their screensavers on their phones...pictures everywhere. Not one of my son. I've given them many pictures of my son. Some when he was born and hooked up to all the machines and some professional ones now that he's doing better. I've asked about it and they said it's because they don't have any picture frames for his pictures. But they managed to put my niece up. Am I being petty that this really bothers me? They treat him great it's just the pictures (or lack of) that bothers me.

I didn't gain any weight and my measurements (when they measure my tummy with measuring tape) didn't get any bigger from my last appointment. I'm 25 weeks pregnant with my second child. The obgyn said that petite people sometimes measure small and gain weight slower and that's okay but I just wanted to hear stories from others who have not gained weight or measured bigger.

My 6 year old came home from 1st grade and proceeded to show my 3 year old how to "flip the bird". Naturally we reprimanding the 6 year old, but it was too late. The 3 year old now flips off everyone she see's. We constantly reprimand her, taking away privlidges, threaten to "smack her hand", etc... nothing is working. What should we do????

i am 23 days late..i already went to the doctor and took a urine test the result was negative. My breast are very heavy and fuller, my nipples hurt and are becoming darker, there was a time when my period was about to come because the cramps were so strong but never came..that was 2 weeks ago..i still have cramps but they are very small and do not bother me..i am also bloated..get very tired and sleepy..my mother keeps telling me that i look pregnant to her..well my question is this..has anybody experienced getting negative urine test results and still be pregnant? I am a first time mother due March 20th. From 2 and half months I have been walking on the treadmill for 30 minutes at a stretch. I go up till 2.4 at the max so my speed is 2.4 and then I change every few minutes to 2.3...a pace I can handle and won't race my heartbeats too much either. I exercise 2 days and then take a break on 3rd day, again walk the next 2 days and so on. Anyway I want to ask other moms who have walked outdoors/used the treadmill if your labor was easier, or less painful, and how was your delivery compared to when you did not exercise? Did you still need an epidural or could you use Lamaze slow chest/shallow breathing and cope with pain with the help of exercise? Please tell me moms out there! Thanks, Tracey
