That's a hard question because everyone's labor is different. Anytime, you think you are in labor, call your prenatal doctor and tell them what's going on, then they will tell you if you should go ahead to the hospital or not. Don't worry if you call or go to the hospital a gazillion times. When I was pregnant, there was a girl at the hospital that had been there 20 times that week, thinking she was in labor and she wasn't embarrassed at all. I went 4 times, before I was actually in labor.

I was in labor for about two days before I knew it, because my doctor said if the contractions were painless, they were braxton hicks. well, they didn't hurt at all, so I thought they were braxton hicks, but what do you know, my water broke 2 days after they started, and I gave birth 5 weeks early!
The signs of labor are:
*contractions or cramps, sometimes back pain
*mucus discharge from the vagina / sometimes in a big glob, sometimes just runny
*dilation (your doc can tell you if you're dilating)
*water breaks, either in a big gush, or in a slower flow
also, three days before my baby was born, I suddenly itched all over like crazy! doctors will tell you that's not a sign, but midwives may tell you it is.
also, my husband intuitively knew it right before I went into labor. For two days, he rushed around trying to get the house ready for the baby, even though I wasn't due for a month. Something about how I was walking and acting made him know it was coming. trust your instincts - and you're husband's. Even my friends at work would say, "it's going to be soon, you're not going to carry to term, I can just tell." sometimes people can just know somehow.

I remedmbr when my labor started. I had gone for my weekly checkup and told the doc i was ready. She helped me along by stripping my membrane...ask your OBGYN about that.... so I was expecting labor to start within 24 hrs. As soon as I had my first cramp, i knew. It was like a menstrual cramp. then it happened again a while later. Itwas really exciting to realize they came quicker and quicker, then it was a constant light cramp..then the cramps began to get stonger in waves.
YOu'll know. A lot of women "nest" right before labor. Making sure all the baby laundry is done, your house is clean.
Good luck sweetie! Oh and remember to write your contrations down on paper. this will make it easier to explain to your doc what is going on... I kept mine and its in my son's baby book.

Point a million: Every occasion has to discover volunteers to face as applicants. Not adequate volunteers - now not adequate applicants. Point two: Standing in a hopeless ward, despite the fact that fascinating for all of the countrywide events, isn't regularly functional, and, of direction, charges cash. Standing approach hanging up a deposit, and publishing election fabric. Point three: In 2007 I do not consider any occasion is fielding applicants in additional than 60% of all of the council seats up for election. There is a ward close me that is certainly solidly Tory. A few years in the past the Tories could not discover a candidate. Nor might another occasion besides Labour. So he received the seat by way of default. The man used to be a conventional ancient staunch socialist and it used to be fairly ironic that he spend four years representing a top Tory rural ward. The Tories made certain they publish a candidate four years later. P.S. If you are going to cite Shakespeare you will have to a minimum of appreciate it. "Wherefore" honestly approach "why are you", now not "wherein are you". Juliet used to be asking why Romeo needed to be from a loved ones with whom hers had a feud.

You will have contractions or your water will break. Call your doctor immediately if either of these happen. Contractions must be regular though which means happening every 5mts or so. Also the hospital has classes for free that teach you all of this stuff. Call them up and get enrolled. It helps a lot.
