I didn't gain any weight and my measurements (when they measure my tummy with measuring tape) didn't get any bigger from my last appointment. I'm 25 weeks pregnant with my second child. The obgyn said that petite people sometimes measure small and gain weight slower and that's okay but I just wanted to hear stories from others who have not gained weight or measured bigger.

It's funny that some of you said your dr/s said that you'd have 4 or 5 lb babies and ended up having bigger babies. With my daughter my ob said it would be normal for me to have a 5 lb baby...she was 8 lbs. But I gained weight with her 'normally'

I typically weigh less than 100 lbs when I am not pregnant.
I never gained much weight in the first half of my pregnancies.....usually 5 lbs by 20 weeks at the most.
My total weight gain was usually around 27 lbs.
My babies were all healthy sized (7 lbs 13 oz boy, 7 lbs 7 oz girl and 8 lbs girl).
I was always within 5 lbs of pre-pregnancy weight by my 6 weeks checkup.

Keep in mind about the measurements - baby's position can effect how your fundal height measures. If baby has changed position since your last checkup, that could account for not seeming to grow any. Also, it's normal to measure anywhere from 2 cm above or below your gestation. (In other words, at 25 weeks a normal fundal height is between 23 cm and 27 cm.)

If you are concerned about the weight gain, add some more snacks into your day. Maybe try a protein shake or a breakfast drink as a quick way to add calories and vitamins. (You can mix Carnation Instant Breakfast with ice cream to make a great high calorie milkshake!)

I gained 20 pounds total with my baby. I'm 5'9"
I didn't even know I was pregnant until 20 weeks (long story involving a misdiagnosed miscarriage), and I'd only gained 3 pounds by then. I gained in fits and spurts. One month I gained 7 pounds, and the next month I gained 1/2 a pound. I gained and lost cm from week to week near the end (I measured 36cm at 32 weeks, and then 33 cm at 34 weeks!).
Baby was born perfectly healthy at 41 weeks, 1 day, weighing 7 lb 15 oz and 21 1/4 inches long.
I was told by my ob/gyn that tall people sometimes measure small because there's more space for the baby to stretch out. *shrug* I think it's just all genetics. Some people carry differently...don't worry too much...the measurements are just a tool, not the be all and end all.
PS...my grandma, who's 5'3" gained 9 pounds TOTAL with my mother (and she was only about 110 before pregnancy). I've seen pictures...My mom weighed a little over 6 pounds at birth. CRAZY!

I have had 4 sons ages 12 to 26. I never gained very much weight. I gained 12 lbs with the first, 11lbs with second, 15 with 3rd and about 17 with the last one. I am a small person too and just didn't gain much. I also always measured small for the numbers of months. My babies were all fairly small at birth also. 5lbs....2 at 6 pounds and one 7 pounder.

i am small and one time i measured smaller than I had the week before but my dr said it was probably because the baby was in a different position. I gained 30 lbs total. I was 106 when I got pregnant. I slowed down gaining weight for like 3 months and then at the end I gained the rest so my dr said that was ok.

I had that same problem. I was told my baby would only be about 4 pounds at birth. Wrong!!!! She was 5 and a half pounds. Don't worry. Everyone is different in how they gain weight. I could wear normal clothes well into my 7th month. Good Luck!

If the obgyn isnt concerned then there isnt really much for you tp be concerned about. Are you feeling it kick? Good luck and if it still worries you, perhaps get another opinion

That hapened to me a lot. They actually thought my baby would be 5lbs or lower but she was 7. So I would not worry myself to much.
