are you a man or a woman?- sorry but you didn't specify and that makes the answer harder.
I am female- I had my son at age 37 1/2. It was a hard pregnancy, I was in pain most of the time and had a very hard labor. I also had to do tests constantly on my visits, to make sure I wasn't getting gestational diabetes, a problem for most older moms. I also went for a amniocentesis, to check for chromosomal problems such as downs syndrome which is also common in older moms. The older you are, the more risks you take having a baby, not only risking chromosome problems, but mental retardation and other problems in the baby.
Is there some reason you feel the need to have another child? Is adoption a viable answer to your maternal instincts? You might want to look into that instead of having another baby at this late stage of life.
Also I have read that the MANS age has something to do with babies coming out having problems- this is a recent discovery, as before they have always thought it was the women's age that cause problems.
Good luck and may the Lord guide you to make the right decision.

My neighbor had her 2 kids at age 40 and 43.

You may be at a higher risk of complications but there is no reason why not. My mom had her last two children over 40 and so many people are having children later and later in life. If you want another one go for it but talk to a doctor first to make sure your body can handle it.

my uncle and his new wife were 40 when they had my little cousin and he is a perfectly healthy. he was born a little early and only weighed 4 1/2 pounds, but he went home from the hospital within 2 weeks when he reached 5 pounds

You should discuss this with your doctor. Obviously there are higher risks being 40 and pregnant, but many women have babies in their 40's and are fine.

Physical safety may not be a concern, the mental one may have to be considered....
When your kid turns 20, you'll be 60....you'd look like a grandma?
Just think about the teasing and other stuff your kid may endure growing up...
But what the heck....a 67-year old woman just gave birth....
go for it....and good luck..

yes, its safe. You chances of problems go up as you age, but 40 is still a reasonably healthy age for childbearing.

My mom did and it was way cool. I am 27 now and have a 10yr old bro and a 7 yr old sister. Better to have another now than wait another yr...might be harder then. Ignore all the bs from others, your dec not theirs

Check with your doctor first. If there are no health problems, then it's probably safe.
