Pregnancy & Parenting - 3 January 2007

I have looked all evening and can't seem to find one. A young girl I know was raped by her father and is pregnant. I need to know the effects it will have on the baby. Is it possible for it to be normal? Or will it have birth defects? This girl doesn't believe in abortion, so thats not an option. I too don't believe in abortion. Any help would be appreciated. Please only serious answers!

tummy when can i start excercise's???i hear that wen we have prawns it will lead to loose motion for infants and it did for my baby but how far is this true???

I have about 5 weeks left in my pregnancy and I want to start packing my bag the last of this week or early next week because you never know what to expect. I want to know what all do I need to pack in my bag to go to the hospital for me and for my baby as well. I know I will breastfeed while in the hospital so formula is out the question, but will I need to take pampers, wipes, bottles, clothes, etc with me too? I want to make sure I don't forget anything, so please tell me everything you recommend I take to the hospital with me...thank you.

P.S: The stomach aches are not that bad, I've had about 3 in the past 3 days.
And the bleeding is kinda brownish and sometimes pink- and very light. I'm still not sure if I am pregnant, but if I am it would have happened the day after Christmas.
And it's hard to tell if the bleeding is caused by pregnancy, or my birth control. I am on the shot and bleed occasionally (very lightly for a few days) I had my period And after sex it stopped for 3 days and now I am bleeding again...
So- I donno, I'm confused. And I am broke and don't wanna ask my parents for a test. But I am sure I can get one somehow... Maybe...?

i went to the hospital becuase of very bad abdominal pains and well they did check for pregnancy and other things. but it came bacc negative. now i would be 6 weeks if i am, i missed my period last month and well can i still be pregnant? or probably not? could i not have enough hcg hormones yet or what?? plz help

It's so bad sometimes that I throw up! I know that a kicking baby is a good sign, but I'm almost afraid to eat because he'll be messing with my stomach later. Currently 29 weeks along if that helps.
Any experience/advice from others is very appreciated!

I'm pregnant and want to put the baby up for adoption. The father of the baby is 18 and wants us to keep the baby and raise it together. That is also what my parents suggest. It's not the life I want for myself and really want to give the baby to someone who can better care for it and who will give it a good life. Can I put it up for adoption without the consent of the father of the baby and/or my parents?

I'm about to start college Jan.22nd and my 4 month old won't drink a bottle i breast feed him and i just started giving him baby food and he loves that but he won't drink from his bottle, he does sometimes which seems like luck but for the most part he won't drink from his bottle and i wanna go back to work...i don't know what to do.

My daughter is only 10 months now, but I was just curious for the sake of future reference. How long can she sleep in her crib before she needs a toddler bed? I would worry about her getting up in the middle of the night and me not knowing about it if I put her in a toddler bed too soon. When you make the transition with your children, do you find that it is harder at first to get them to go to sleep? Or does it make bedtime more fun since they are more easily accessible for hugs and kisses and you get to tuck them in?
I just remember my cousin telling me about when she put her son in his toddler bed and he kept getting up in the middle of the night, running around the apartment and trying to crawl into bed with her. I can understand why she was stressed out because she was worried that he might get hurt or something might happen while she was asleep... Anyway thanks to anyone with helpful information or suggestions :)

ok my parents have always treeted my older brother better than me. but for christmas this year they went to far. my older brother (19) got a car ($800) and I (17) got $50. i asked for some money to pay for a skiing trip in in a few weeks, and the trip costs $200. people have told me that i should not be jellous of my brother, but my parents spent so much on him and only gave me 1/4 of what i need for the trip. I know that I will not get a car when I am 19, my parents have as good as told me that. (they baught the car from my grandparents.) and my parents are always conplaining that we never have enough money. some months we have to chose between bills and food. what can i do?another thing, he is very lazy, he does not work, and he does not help around the house. I have 2 younger siblings who got every thing on their lists for christmas, but they did not amout to much money. (about $100 each). and none of them do any thing. I haven't had my period since September. I have taken 3 home pregnancy tests, along with a pregnancy test at the doctor ... all are negative. I have not been under a large amount of stress; in fact, the past 6 months have probably been the least stressful of my life. I have noticed a slight increase in my appetite, and I've gained about 7 lbs. I have not been sick to my stomach but have been incredibly tired. If I'm not pregnant, what else could be going on with me? I have a normal 28 day cycle, regular as clockwork.

We want her to learn the 3 languages perfectly and know she can, but we haven't started teaching her English yet. My wife speaks Polish, I speak Spanish, and we communicate in English. After the birth of each of my kids (I have 3) I put on weight and can't lose it. With both my first and second child I started putting on weight after they were born and was not able to lose it until I stopped breast feeding and my periods returned. So now my third child is only 2 months and i've already put on 4 kilos. I expected this will happen again and it is. I'm eating good, exercising whenever I can, but I keep getting bigger (and obviously the breastfeeding does not help to lose weight either). I do suspect though that I'll be able to lose it again once I stop breast feeding as with the other two. Has this happened to anyone else and how did you lose the weight or stop the weight from piling on????? HELP!

My husbands thinks that our baby will have a harder time sleeping in his crib when i try to put him in it, i was thinking that maybe i can try to put him in his basinet for naps because his room isn't finished and i don't wanna put him his his room alone at night in his crib while his room isn't finished and we're about to move so it's in finishing his room, i'm also very attached and used to him sleeping with me now....

I had sex with my bf on the 17th of december. It wasent planned so we didnt used a condom, we didnt have one. He didint ***, and he said he had problems cumming. I still got worried. I was a virgin, so I am very naive in some things and I start looking for information. Read about precum, and the chances of still getting preg. I am very scared, though. My period is very irregular, my last one was one november 14, it usually was taken around 45 or more to get my next period. it may be because im a little overweight, (160 for 5 5") or stress. I thought I was getting my period, because I got a huge pimple, lower back ache, and tummy bloated. And i also had a brownish spott. But then it change to discharge, and i have been having light clear discharge, but no period. Then I read about implanation bleeding. I am 19, fully aware i dont want to marry tmy bf, I want to study, and yet If Im pregnat Don't want to abort. But I dont know if I am. Dont know whent to do a pregnacy test... Help plis

My baby is 5 months old and we can't get him to sleep through the night, because he gets cold. If he doesn't kick the blanket away, he pulls it over his face. He also moves a lot in his sleep, he'll end up with his feet on his cushion and his head at the bottom. What can I do to keep the blanket on him? I've already dressed him in warmer clothes.
