Pregnancy & Parenting - 25 December 2006

This might be a VERY difficult question to answer, but here it goes. I rasied my son (or had custody of him) up to 6 months of age. The day he turned 6 months, I was sitting in jail... both my boyfriend & I. My boyfriend (who is also the father of my child) & I lost custody of our son due to drug use. DSS (Dept. of Social Services) got involved. Anyway, to make long story short, what I am wondering is, does my son even know who I AM to him? Does he know I am his "mommy?" He is 14 months now (a little over a year) and I don't think he has a clue. I do have visitation rights and they are supervised (until further notice). My man's aunt has temporary custody of him. It gets to me that he doesn't show me affection the way he does her. I get jealous. I only see him like twice a month. Sometimes I think that he doesn't even know who I am and that I'm just another human being to him. It hurts. And for the record, I am clean/ sober and am trying to get him back. My b/f & I, both.

how old were they when they finally stopped drinking from a bottle altogether and what got them to that point? Did you force them to go cold turkey? Use some fun, little "trick" to help facilitate the switch? Just wondering what worked for you...

And please, for the love of Pete, if your child was drinking out of a cup (all of the time) before the age of two and/or you just want to spout opinions about how and why children should be weaned from a bottle before they're a year old, I don't want to hear it. That's not my question.

I have been on the Pill for a bit over 2 months. I stopped taking the active pill a day after a sexual encounter with my boyfriend. Usually I get my period the next day - however, it has been 2 days now and not a drop of period. Could I be pregnant? I'm only a teenager. I am really scared. My parents don't know about my relationship with my bf - although we are really commited to eachother we aren't ready to be parents so soon. Please help.

i dont know if it was my water or not...i felt my underwear become damp all of a sudden, so i went and thought i had to use the restroom, so i did. then they stayed damp, so i changed them and they stayed the same, but not as much. it wasnt a lot, but enough to be uncomfortable. they're just barely like that now...is it possible that my water did break and it stopped? that the baby is blocking it now?? i dont know if that can happen or not. i have had a few contractions since, but they arent very bad. they're uncomfortable, but thats it, and i have some lower back pain that hasnt gone away since a few hours before this happened. has this happened to anyone else?? my due date is this wednesday.....

are home pregnancy tests really accurate. has anyone had a false negitive or positive with CVS brand? what is the best brand? thanks, im buyingh a test tomorrow and want to get the best brand. lol I really want to be pregnant and i dont want to get a false positive and be completely dissapointed. thanks all for any help.

my g/f is late on her period, i know the obvious answer is that she is pregnant, but we are very careful but she is not on birth control and i always use a condom and have not had a rip. She says she is have alot of sharp cramps where her ovaries are she having them alot. She has lost her appetite recently but i think she is just late because of stress. I took her v card and right after she said she is nervouse about getting PG but im confident she isnot but what could be the coause of these pains she is having? should she see a doctor. And last moth she was a week late on her period too but eventually had it.

I know its really none of my business, but for resource information, I was just wondering how those who get IVF pay for it? I know it can run well over 10,000, do you really have to be rich to get it? Or do you just get loans or what? I think that I will end up having to have it, but I dont know how I will afford it. I am about 48k a year which isnt bad but I deff do not have thousands just laying around. Not many insurances cover any of it, right?

If my 1yr old does not get his way he will scream at a pitch that will hurt your ears. I have tried nicely asking him to covering his mouth when he does this to get him to stop.any suggestions on how to make him stop screaming and teaching him another form of communication??

I am 15 weeks preganant today (I hope)

On Wednesday morning I was nauseous, looked down and I had a few brown blood clots. Went to the ER. They did a pelvic exam (cervix closed) HCG @ 50,000. Couldnt find HB bc they had a very old doppler. (Not sure if that has anything to do with a large 8x6cm fibroid that is sitting outside the uterine wall. We did an ultrasound and baby was fine. HB was 137 and all looked ok. The dr told me to take it easy for a couple of days and to avoid sex while bleeding.

There was no bleeding for a few days so my fiance and I had sex last night. I stopped after 30 seconds and there was red blood on him and when I wiped. It tapered off (more than spotting but nowhere near enough to fill a pad). There was no one to do an ultrasound and the doppler was too old to foind HB (same place). HCG @ 39,000.

Very, very light brown blood today and still feeling nauseous. Only thing is back aching. Cramps on and off - not heavy at all. Any hope for little one?

My favorite present was deffinitly my Northface fuzzy black one. And my favorite thing today was eating dinner with my family and my brother's friends(my brother is no longer living that's why I said this)

There are 6 children in the family. We have three and his brother has three. I always send either $ or a gift card for birthdays and Christmas. Two years ago his brother quit sending my children $ or gift cards on their birthdays. This year they have not sent anything for Christmas. The age range of children is 15 to 7. They make alot more money than we do and have made no explaination why they are not sending birthday "gifts" and today they have not returned our phone call (they live in another state) to wish them Merry Christmas and make sure the children got their gift cards. I always send them in a special card just for the kids. My kids don't understand why their Aunt & Uncle aren't sending them anything as they have always sent Thank you cards & called to say thank you as well. I'm just mad because they are hurting my girls feelings. Any suggestions?

My daughter turned ten in in September, and she has asked me about shaving her legs. The hair is rather thick and dark. I know none of her friends shave yet, but I was wondering if it would be O.K. if she started out with an electric razor first. I know I was twelve before I started. Any mothers out there going through this same dilemma?
