I know its really none of my business, but for resource information, I was just wondering how those who get IVF pay for it? I know it can run well over 10,000, do you really have to be rich to get it? Or do you just get loans or what? I think that I will end up having to have it, but I dont know how I will afford it. I am about 48k a year which isnt bad but I deff do not have thousands just laying around. Not many insurances cover any of it, right?

I think more insurance companies are covering it. You will have to pull out your coverage booklet to see if it is a covered procedure. Typically it is something that will have to be approved by the insurance, and only after all other less expensive procedures are performed. My insurance covers everything except the cryogenic freezing. Of course we have to pay the deductible and the co-payments, but it covers 100% after the out of pocket is met.

Also, many of the fertility clinics will work with you financially. They have payment plans, and know the insurance companies and what they cover.

I'm not rich either, but I'm starting it next month. The clinic is working with me financially, and I will be on a payment plan for what the insurance doesn't cover.

I will be starting IVF next month...I am very lucky because my insurance(through my husband's work) covers it 100%. If this were not the case, I would not be able to afford it as you are correct..it costs over 10,000 with each try. I do know a lot of IVF centers offer payment plans and financing as options.

IVF (in vitro fertilization) treatment; IUI, ICSI and Laparoscopic surgery is very cheap in India. The cost is very low and the medical services are very good in India.

My cousin and her husband got their IVF treatment in India through the Forerunners Healthcare in India and is all praise for this company. She is a known case of PCOS.She is a very happy mother of a baby boy now. She just paid 2500 pounds for the full IVF treatment in India for which she was quoted 8000 pounds in private setup in UK.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. I read a lot about them in the newspapers. I have also read about a Chinese couple who planned surrogacy through the Forerunners Healthcare. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery and infertility treatment like IVF, IUI, and ICSI abroad for low price. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery and treatment can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.
