I used the cheapest one they had at walmart, an offbrand. I was 8 days late on my period and i got a positive within seconds! I went to the Doctor 2 days later, and now i am 27 weeks pregnant with a boy. A few months prior to becoming pregnant, i was 12 days late on my period and got negatives with 4 tests of different brands. It is more likely to get a false negative though, if its really early, HCG levels arent as high ect....but a false positive isnt very common. Good luck to ya!

Surprisingly, cheap tests purchased at dollar stores or on the Internet are often more sensitive and reliable than expensive store brands. HPT's are like soda: very cheap to make, and marked up quite a bit for retail.

Like you see above it really does not matter what test you buy they are all the same just the price is different.

(The CVS brand will be fine) I tested a full seven days before my period was due and got 2 positives (I used "Answer" & ClearBlue Easy)

All pregnancy tests detect the hormone HcG. This hormone is only produced by the body when it is pregnant.

The difference in the test would be in what amount of this hormone they can detect. Some detect alot smaller traces of it, meaning they come back with a positive result SOONER than say the day you are supposed to start your period.

A test can't give a FALSE POSITIVE> Like I said, they all test for the HcG hormone produced ONLY when you are pregnant.

You CAN, however, receive a FALSE NEGATIVE.

The cheap dollar store brands work fine, but probably just aren't designed to detect such smaller amounts of the hormone as the bigger named brands. I would save the money, wait until the day I am supposed to start my period and buy a cheap one. :-)

I personally think clear blue or ept pregnancy test are good. They can detect pregnancy hormone as early as in 3days before your missed period. You should have a positive test ( if you are). Some cheap brand sometimes makes you think. You should try these brand. They won't lie to you. (trust me I have 3 kids myself and for each of then I used it). Good luck!!

Most of them are pretty much the same I have heard that clear blue can detect smaller amts of hcg. But there is no such thing as a false pos unless you read it after 10 min (i think that is the limit) in which case the test will be inaccurate. good luck

Get a blood attempt. inspite of the actual shown fact that fasle positives are uncommon they are able to and do ensue. fantastically with blue dye exams. lower back your maximum suitable guess is to pass get a blood attempt. oftentimes women do no longer produce HCG without being pregnant as this is produced by employing the arrival up placenta yet some drugs could have it in them etc. in the adventure that your tiers are decrease than 5 they'll say this is adverse in basic terms for the actual shown fact that the tiers are so low and opportunities of miscarriage etc
