Mid-late 20's. You need to be 'ready' to make the sacrifices required to be a good parent, as well as be prepared to provide for the child financially. This can happen at various ages, but just seems to work out better if people wait a bit to have kids.

When you feel mentally ready to deal with the stress and the sleep deprivation, and when you're financially secure. Parenthood is a 24/7 job. It *never* stops, you never get a break from it, and once you have the baby, there's no going back. So being mentally ready is highly important.

I am 22 and married, we are financially stable and expecting our first child in March. I don't think there is a good age just whenever someone is ready, capable, and mature enough to raising a child.
