Sometimes my 4 1/2 -year-old stutters his words and doesn't pronounciate very well, and other times he speaks fine. I always understand him, but sometimes others have problems. Other kids AND adults have made faces at him, like, "what are you saying"? And I've been asked "why does he talk like that" right in front of him. My pediatrician said not to worry, that some kids his age think so quickly, they just can't get the words out right, and that it will get better. I feel like I need to do more to help him. Has anyone ever had this problem? I'd like for him to go to speech therapy, but I can't afford it. I don't want him to become self-conscience. What's your advice?

My husband and I have been arguing about this. He says that he wants to start feeding our son (2.5 mos. approx. 13lbs.) rice and cereal because he eats a lot. I keep telling him no, that we need to wait until his doctor says is it okay. I know a lot of moms who DID give their babies rice at his age but didn't tell their babys doctor.. what did you guys do?

I have ran into this question lots of times. What are your opinions on this? I feel that the reasons children are so out of control now is that parents don't have the control anymore. My parents spanked me and I would not do half the stuff these kids are doing now. I feel that spanking(not abuse) is not used enough with out of control kids. It did not hurt me mentally at all. I think that is one of the reasons I have a masters degree and a wonderful job. It kept me in line.

Why can't they just add in exactly what was said and done?? I mean there is bad language and then there is BAD language. Is it a word my son has never said before in which case I need to just talk to him about it and tell him why it is bad to say or is it something he already knows is wrong to say in which case I can skip the long talk, just give him the short talk, then spank his butt and ground him. Not to mention how long I should ground him for. Should he be grounded for his entire Christmas Vacation or do I just let it go?
How do you take care of this problem if you don't really know anything about it? I mean of course when I ask my son about it, in his version he is completely innocent of any and all wrong doing, but I'm not stupid enough to believe my son is in any way innocent in his actions.
If a teacher is going to take the time out of her/his busy day to write a note to a child’s parents can’t they at least explain what happen a little better??

Last week while I was changing, my 9 years old son barged inside the room and see me naked from behind. Since then he is avoiding me. How should I make him realize that its normal among family, some times it happens and he can take care in future.

Is 7pm too early? Can you give me examples of what works with your baby? Or what you did to ensure a long sound sleep at night.
Thanks

I just had an ultrasound this past wednesday and was told the baby has dropped. I went to the grocery store today, and about halfway through the store, my back started hurting, and it just gets worse the more i move. I dont know if its just because i was walking alot and the weight of the baby caused it to start hurting, or if it could be back labor. The tech at the ultrasound didnt say which way the baby is facing, and i know if the baby is facing away from your back, you're likely to have back labor. It's my first baby, and i'm really sure how to tell when its labor or not, and with the pain in my back, could it be back labor? how long should i wait before i call my doctor? my water hasnt broke *which i know doesnt happen very often in pregnancy until they break it for you*, and i'm not having contractions. I lost my mucus plug way back in october when iwas in the hospital for a kidney stone. i dont want to worry myself and have it be a false alarm. what do you think it is?

Let's say you'd like to have two babys.
After the second birth that you gave can you get your tubes tied right away?
Same day, same place?
Have you had it done?

My name is Cristina and im 13 years old in the 7th grade. I met this guy who is in the 8th grade, he's name is Alex and we kinda made out. In school! He liked it so we kept doing it for a long time. I''m still doing it and am I too young for it? But the thing is I'm hot, blonde hair, green eyes, tall, thing, really pretty. Does he want something more than making out?

my fiance and i are still having sex and I am 33 weeks pregnant. my due date is not until the end of january. is it safe to still be having sex? we don't have sex every night, but i try to atleast 2-3 times a week because i heard that it makes labor pains less intense, and it makes labor in general a little easier to deal with and can sometimes make it faster. is this true? should I stop having sex or is it safe?

Okay - my 13 month old son never sits still for one minute. I try to hold him in my lap so we can read a book and he starts screaming he wants down. I hold him down when changing his diaper he squirms and starts crying. He has fits in his car seat if hes in it for more than 5 minutes. Its getting frustrating and Im not sure if this is a behavioral issue or not - most people I ask are friends or family and they just say hes a very active child and theres nothing wrong - I dont know if theyre just being nice or what. Maybe someone can give me some advise?.

Talked to my daughter-in-law today. She put the baby to bed on his stomach last night and he slept much better. He doesn't like his back or side at all. All 7 of my kids slept on their stomachs. The theory back then was if they vomited they would be less likely to choke on it.
