Some tests, such as First Response Early Response, are designed to be sensitive and *can* be taken as early as 5 days before you miss your period. If you get a positive result, then you're pregnant; the tricky part is that if you get a negative result that early (regardless of the test's sensitivity), it could simply be too early for there to be enough hcg (human chorionic gonadotrophin, the "pregnancy hormone" the tests look for) in your urine to yield a positive result. So if you get a negative result, but still don't get your period, you should test again.
Your body doesn't manufacture the hcg until a fertilized egg implants in your uterus. Implantation typically occurs between (roughly) 5-10 days after conception, but it could be later. So (for example), if implantation didn't occur until day 10, and you would expect your period on day 14 after ovulation, then there would be no hcg to detect at 5 days "before your missed period" and you would get a negative result. That make sense?
The "smart money" is on waiting, but if you're anxious about the result we all know that's not really practical advice. Wait as long as you can and use a sensitive test, and I hope you get whatever results you're looking for!

Depends on the test... some say as soon as 3 days before your missed period. Good luck.

Wether it tells you 4 days after your missed period or not, id wait at least a week or two, that way the hormone will be strong and youll have less of a chance for a false negative.

some tests let you test as early as 4 days before the missed period, but it is not 100% reliable then. The first day of the missed period is safest

To get the best result I would wait until you are exactly one week late. You can take it earlier but I've always found best results after seven days. Good luck!

you may get early pregnany tests that would have the flexibility to p.c.. up in case you're pregnant even previously you have ignored a era. yet even the conventional ones can p.c.. up on the 1st day of a ignored era. I dont think of fee incredibly concerns too plenty. wait and see!
