Pregnancy & Parenting - 8 December 2006

Almost 2 weeks ago now (2 weeks on Sunday) I had minor spotting. Now, my period is late, as usual, and I just thought my period was starting, but it was only minor spotting and then it stopped. It has been almost two full weeks now. I know that spotting can occur a week after implantation, so I took a test this morning (Friday) and it came up negative. Would waiting two more days until my "official" 3 week mark (as I have calculated it) make that much of a difference?

I am 29 weeks and have gestational diabetes.Just wondering how other pregnant women are doing who also have it?I have to do the finger prick test 4 times a day and my fingers are so sore.I am hoping with diet and exercise my blood sugars stay normal.Have any of you had to go on insulin?Do the shots hurt?

She will just walk around the house, picking up toys that happen to strike her fancy, and pile them on one particular couch in our living room. If anyone tries to touch or move those toys, she has a complete meltdown. She isn't even actively playing with the toys, she just has to have them in a certain place, a certain way. And it is only after asking her numerous times that she will take the toys off the couch and put them back where they belong. I was wondering if this behavior is normal for her age and how we can peacefully end it. It is particularly frustrating when we have company over and she doesn't "allow" anyone to sit on "her couch."

When they were infants I read to them, then we went thru the stage around 1 of them wanting to yank on the books and pages, so we slacked off. They are now 27 months old and when we try to read one of them wants the book I have, tries to turn pages before I can read it or jabbers louder than me, pretending they are reading. Something I wish we could enjoy and want to be fun turns into a disaster. Any suggestions?

I'm due on April 25, 2007 & we're expecting a little girl. We've most likely decided on Brenna, but can't think of a middle name. Our last name is Pavia so I don't want a "R" or a "J" name. The only thing we've come up with so far is Marie, but it's very common. Any suggestions??

Our daughter is 14 months old, healthy, 75th percentile in weight and height, but refuses most solid foods. She eats bread, cheeses, crackers, yogurt, cottege cheese, and the rest is baby food. We continuously offer her our food and she initially says yes, and then when she recieves it, tells us no. Should we just be patient and she will come around at her own time? Or us there another way to get her to eat more solids?
And yes, we have tried sneaking food into her baby food, and other things, none have worked.
