Once they have a heartbeat you are less likely to miscarry, but until 12 to 14 weeks, the rate is still the same. This is because most miscarriges they do not find a heartbeat ie they know you miscarried. Just relax and stat calm.

Everything I have ever read does state that the chance of miscarriage decreases after you hear a heartbeat. My doctor also confirmed this. You still can miscarry until 20 weeks - however, my understanding is that many miscarriages happen due to some kind of heart issues, and a steady, normal beat means that your child probably is not having those issues. Your baby can still perish after 20 weeks, as well, but generally not due to a genetic problem, and it is not called a miscarriage at that point.

Miscarriage is more likely during the first trimester. It is not true that once a heartbeat is heard on is more likely. Matter of fact it is a comfort to know that your baby's heart has started to beat and that it will hopefully continues to beat once you deliver and long after. I was worried that my baby was not living because I was about six weeks and when I had a ultrasound down the nurse saw a sac, but did not see a heartbeat. Luckily it was just too early to see a heartbeat and when I went for my first prenatal at seven weeks my baby was well and heart was beating strong as ever. So do not worry. make sure you take your prenatal vitamins and drink plenty of water. I made that mistake with my first child and I delivered seven weeks early.

u always have a chance to miscarry or have the baby die during delivery or two hours after birth...
but it is less likely when the heartbeat is found
b/c the baby is far along at that point, that it can pretty much fight for its life if something happens to it....as long as the mom pays attention to pains and stuff, and take care of herself and the baby, so if something does happen, it can be taken care of in time so the baby doesnt have to fight
which is good, cuz once it's born, fighting for survival is a lot harder...it's gonna need all the energy possible :)

You are going to get a lot of mixed answers on this one.....The chances may decrease once the heartbeat is heard...but any chance is still too much for me to be comfortable with.
I miscarried triplets at 15 weeks last December...Heard the heartbeats and was on our way into our second trimester...Sometimes...**** just happens!
Miscarriage can happen for many reasons and sometimes...no reason at all can be found. And most often, a woman can have one or sometimes many miscarriages and then go on to have a healthy pregnancy. I am now 35 weeks with one very healthy and active baby girl! Just do the best you can to take care of yourself and your baby.
Good luck and Congratulations!

Once you see a heartbeat your chances drop slightly...once you hear it, they drop drastically. But there is always a chance something will go wrong and you can miscarry at any point in a pregnancy.
Once you make it past 16 weeks with no complications your chances are very very low....normally you can hear the heartbeat at 12weeks on a doppler.

Rhia B is sweet, it has greater to do with the being pregnant hormone, and a few women folk purely shield the upward push greater helpful than others, making their ailment very easy, yet that doesn't mean they have much less of it, that's what's greater in all likelihood to make contributions (or a minimum of be appropriate) to a miscarriage.

I heard my baby's heartbeat at around 9 weeks. Four weeks later I miscarried. I had an ultrasound the day before my miscarriage and it said the baby died at 8 weeks. I don't think the ultrasound was that accurrate.
