Yes it's perfectly normal. In Fact......On the last episode of the TV mini series that goes along with the book Pregnancy for Dummies, they had an animation of the baby dancing around and playing rock'n'roll on his umbilical cord! LOL!

I'm 8 months and my baby is moving a real lot also. According to the dr this is a very good thing. There is no discomfort for the baby maybe just us when we get a good kick or two ha ha

My son would beat me up really bad, from about 6 months on. I would be in a meeting, and it would get really quiet, and I would realize everyone was watching my belly bounce around. Seriously, it was like from "Alien". He was really active!! And yes, even worse when I was lying down. Movement slows babies down (as you will happily learn when you take the baby for a ride in a stroller or car), so when you are not moving, it gives the baby a chance to really go crazy. Don't worry. Good luck!!

Your baby moves more when you lay down because when your up moving it rocks the little guy to sleep, and the baby wakes up and has lots of energy when you lay down. This is also why babies are up more at night after they are born. But as for a lot of movement that's wonderful it means the baby is healthy, and getting big that's why you feel him so much!
Good Luck

Count your blessings! It sounds as though you are carrying a very healthy and active baby! :) I do sympathize though...my baby is the same way! I only get about 5 hours of peace in a 24 hour day! It is cramoed in there...he is probably just making himself comfy! Also, if he is a thumb sucker and loses his thumb...he will thrash around looking for it.
Good luck and Congratulations!!

that's good that he's moving. are you very active, if so that's why he is. you should stay active because if this is your first child, you will not have many complications and you can bounce back fast with very little pain. i was active and had an easy birth and my baby moved a lot! it is probably noticeable especially you wake up and get your day started.

I'm sure everything is great. You just have a very active baby. My son was the same way. It seems as if he was active all the time. Good luck to you and congrats!
