My sister advised me not to eat anything that is difficult to throw up. She was very serious about avoiding shredded wheat, her favorite cereal. When I had chemotherapy, I remembered her advice. It makes me laugh!

It really varies from person to person... I couldn't eat meat for the first three months of my pregnancy because it made me sick. I would suggest eating things for nutritional value... I ate a lot of pastas and salads and tons of fruit, cottage cheese, and drink a lot of milk and orange juice so that you can get the extra vitamin c. Other than that, just eat what you crave. The reason that women get weird cravings while they're pregnant is because there is something in the food that their bodies need... I've even heard of people craving dirt (their bodies just need the minerals... instead of eating dirt just drink mineral water and the craving should go away)

Good Luck!

Nothing made me sick except the smell of coffee nauseates me a bit. It all depends on you. If you are already experiencing sickness, crackers can be a great thing to eat. Most women I know say that if you eat a couple saltines first thing in the morning, it helps steady your stomach a bit.

Good luck!

i don't have kids and have never been pregnant, but my mom got sick on pretzels or spaghetti sauce or the thought of cheese when she was pregnant with me 20 years ago. i think it differs from person to person. no 2 people are exactally alike so things that you normally love and can eat every day might make you sick. i say just eat healthy. don't eat anything too rich or spicy. it could cause heartburn or a stomach ache. stick with friuts, veggies, stuff full of fiber and vitamins. it will make you and the baby healthier.

Whew! With my first pregnancy everything made me sick including smells. I was hospitalized twice with dehydration from barfing.. With my second child, it was much more mild and I couldn't tolerate eggs, garlic, coffee or strong flavors with after-taste.

I avoided all alcohol and caffeine (but also had no taste for it either) and focused on as much whole food as possible (as opposed to processed or fast food). Also eat organic if you can. Things get concentrated in the body and absorbed by the fetus.

Congratulations by the way!!

I'm 12 weeks/5 days pregnant. I never got sick until I had a cup of the top ramen soup. (that was a week ago) So... I would personally say don't eat that. However, everyone is different.

Congrats!

Milk always made me sick no matter what. Other then that it was just whatever I had eaten that day. It really just varies. I know I usually love chinese food and I couldn't stand it when I was pregnant. I hate chilli dogs but I ate them all the time when I was pregnant.

good luck and congrats!

Its kinda hit and miss with morning sickness. One day something that I craved and could keep down would make me sick just thinking about eating the next day.
Stick to crackers, cheese and bland food if your having morning sickness (in my case I had 24/7 sickness for 4mths and needed to prescriptions to keep it from putting me in the hospital). Drink lots of water to keep hydrated!

EVERYTHING!!! Including the smell of my own home! a week after I found out I was pregnant I was getting morning, afternoon, and evening sickness. I went away for 2 weeks on vacation and the day I came back I threw up.

Do not eat FAST FOOD! Not only will it make you sick but it's not healthy for baby. Red sauces....Marinara, OJ, anything ACIDY...might give you heart burn...

Peel and WASH thoroly all FRUITS and VEGGIES....due to PESTISIDES!!!!

DO TAKE YOUR PRENATALS!!!!!!!!

It depended on what day it was for me - sometimes certain things made me so sick that later on I craved and did nothing. You just have to find out for yourself, I guess. If you smell it and you get sick, don't eat it. If you smell it and you feel fine, try it out. It's just a game of elimination.
