You POOR thing! I have been there! The good news is, you are 29 weeks, you, looking at the big picture, don't have THAT much further to go.

With me, I was about the same 29 weeks and I cried and cried when I found out I had gestational diabetes. I had never dreamed, I would have it (and my first 3 pregnancies, I didn't!) but my 4th pregnancy I had it!

So, with mine, I had to watch everything I ate (I couldn't even exercise b/c I was high risk for pre-term labor!). I never had to take insulin, which was great.

Look at the instruction booklet of your test meter. MOST test meters they have these days you can test on OTHER spots and still get the SAME reading. My fingers hurt so bad, I just couldn't do it anymore! I started testing on my palm, and arm and it still gave me very accurate results! (But you want to make sure your meter does this!) Mine was the freestyle something... a yellow box with a butterfly on it.

If you watch what you eat and control those pregnancy cravings you should be fine and not even have to do insulin.

Good Luck!!! (And so soon as baby is born, it goes completely away!)

I'm 36 weeks and I have it...I just follow a meal plan that was setup by a dietician...at first..I wasn't really able to maintain it with the diet so, the doctor put me on some pills that have regulated my blood sugar...I haven't had any problems since...the doc told me that your glucose levels would have to be extremely high for you to have to do insulin...I don't have to do the finger prick thing...I just go in once a week and they draw blood before I eat and 1 hour after I eat....I've only gained 19 pounds total...and I actually lost 4 lbs the first week I was on the diet...good luck!

I'm a 45 year old woman and was recently diagnosed as being a borderline diabetic. My doctor prescribed some medication, but before filling it I decided to do some research on the internet which led me to the methods. After reading this ebook and applying the methods, my scepticism turned to 100% belief. I noticed that my energy levels increased significantly and I felt more rested in the morning, my symptoms started going away.

I am very happy to tell you that I have been feeling better than I have felt in years and my doctor informed me that he will be taking me off my prescriptions if I keep this up.

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

I never had to go on insulin. I know how you feel about your fingers though with my last pregnancy I had gestational diabetes, i don't know yet in this pregnancy. I would poke the sides of my fingers so that the tops weren't so sensitive. I hated the diet.

When I was pregnant with my last child I developed it. I was insulin dependent (shots 4 times/day) The shots do hurt, but you get used to them, its just more annoying than anything...and it gets old! Stick with the 'diet' and get lots of exercise. Keep a close eye on your sugar levels...the most important thing here is the health of your baby! Good Luck!

My sister had gestational diabetes with one of her first 4 kids...she has 11 or 12, I lost count... so I don't recall which one it was. Anyway, she just had to control her diet and the diabetes went away after delivery.
