My daughter is 21 months old and for 2 weeks has been waking up coughing and wheezing during the night and after naps. I took her to the pediatrician and he diagnosed an ear infection. 3 days later she spiked a high fever and we ended up in the ER and they diagnosed bronchitis. Still no improvement after the antibiotics. She woke up 2 days ago after a nap and was really struggling to breathe, i took her to the ER again and they said they could find nothing wrong and her lungs were clear. When i explained the symptoms to the ER doctor he suggested that it could be cough induced asthma. Also told me that he couldnt offically diagnose it that the pediatrician would have too. Have an appointment with the pediatrician tommorrow. All the runaround is frustrating me, my child is sick, i just want them to do something to help her. Does this sound like asthma to anyone else?

Okay, I went into the hospital this morning with contractions strong enough to be pretty darn painful. (me freaking out because I'm barely 37 weeks probably did not help) They put me on the moniter and found a regular pattern. After a while, they had me do laps around the hospital and then checked me again... (I started at one cm dilated) I was at two, so they kept me for a while longer and then had me walk some more. About an hour later there had been no change so they sent me home. Since then I've taken a great nap and the actual contractions have mostly gone away, though I still have what feels like bad menstrual cramps and back pain.... They said they might see me later on tonight but how high are my chances of going into active labor soon? Has this happened to anyone. Plus, when is this pain going to stop and how can I speed up the process. Thanks in advance

I'm 9 weeks pregnant and just realized my toothpaste and mouthwash both have a small percentage of alcohol in them. If I swallowed a bit while brushing or using the mouthwash, would it pose a problem for the baby? I'm 9 weeks pregnant.

I know it sounds silly, but I don't know if I want to breast-feed. My husband thinks it's selfish because if I don't, I wouldn't be doing everything possible to give the baby a healthy start to life. I know breast-feeding has many nutritional and health benefits, but I just don't like the thought of doing it personally. Do you think my husband is right?

Plus, it doesn't seem fair that I would be the one getting up in the middle of the night to feed while he sleeps. I can't stand the thought of pumping either.

We would like to get my daughter a computer-style system for Christmas. She is 2 1/2 and LOVES banging away at the keyboard. There are so many out there that I am wondering if anyone can offer their experiences...the Vtech VSmile, the Comfy keyboard, and any others. Is it educational/interactive/fun? Would you buy it again? Do you like it? What don't you like? Can you recommend one over another? Thanks!

Could they cause this?
My boobs have been hurting a little over a week...i took a test a 2 weeks ago and it was negative. I have just started takin vitex, super primrose, and prenatals 9 days ago...do you think this is just a side effect? has anyone else had this side effect? it doesnt say it is? Vitex does not contain natural hormones. It appears to increase progesterone by stimulating luteinizing hormone release from the pituitary gland. Vitex also normalizes excessive prolactin, promoting fertility.
Female infertility

PMS, especially breast tenderness, cramping, and headaches

Acne, especially if it is related to the menstrual cycle

Fibrocystic breast disease

Heavy menstruation

Side effects are rare. Occasionally, women experience mild digestive upset or minor skin rash

It seems a bit more popular than it maybe should be. Why is it done in the absence of medical conditions that make it a good idea?

what does a mucus plug look like? my first pregnancy i never lost it that i know of. I have had really bad sharp pains in my lower "area" all day so have been keeping an eye and the loss of mucus, and just now I wiped and there was like a quarter size (maybe a little larger) of mucus but it wasn't watery (it was actually like THICK) and when I pulled on it (YUCK I KNOW) it was streachy. was that my mucus plug? I am 33 weeks I called doc and have an appointment tomorrow I was just wondering what this sounds like to you.

She Cried!
We have a boy together, and my step daughter lives with her mom, who just had a baby....(8mths old) We always try and do things alone with her and kiss and hug her, but she just always feels jealous....and lets it be known..

She said she dosent want anymore brothers/sisters, Her mom is thinking of adopting another one as well, next year. so she will have 3 brothers an sisters on both sides of her family. She was not accepting the idea of me being pregnant! All tears!

Anyone else experience this...It wasnt the reaction I was hoping for..It really hurt my feelings, Im emotional right now any way....these pregnancy hormones! ha ha

Any advice....

She will take maybe two naps during the day lasting anywhere from 10 to 30 mins. She does sleep through the night almost everynight, so I'm very blessed there. She goes to bed anywhere from 11:00 to 12:30 and sleeps til around 8:00 or 9:00. But in all the books, magazines, and websites say that babies her age should sleep at least 14 hours a day. What can I do to help her take longer naps?

Have you ever wanted to have a baby but you are not married or your not even in a relationship?

I've wanted to have a child since I was 16 (I'm now 22) and everytime I see a young child or baby I get jealous or everytime I see a child or a baby without a mom because she left I will get so mad at the person who left, thinking how could they do that.

Am I wierd or do some of you go through this to.

I am a parent of a six year old, I never let him walk to school or walk home even though his friends do , because of the simple fact kids come up missing all the time, is that being to involved? Is it not our responsibility by bringing children in to this world as a parent to protect them from danger?
