On my 18th birthday I moved about 5 states away....VERY long drive...and i didnt start my period when i was supposed to. I was acctually 1 month late for my period and i ended up have a very light flow for 1 day then it stopped....so a few more days later I started my period again and it was really heavy....I was wondering if anyone would know why my period did this???

It sounds to me that maybe the STRESS of moving caused you to have a strange period. Stress can do all sorts of things to your body and it can cause irregular periods, and bleeding. Give it a few months you'll get back on track.. =)

So, it could be one of two things I think:
1. Your spotting was actually implantation bleeding, and the "period" was either a miscarriage (sorry!) or the periods women experience sometimes when pregnant.
2. Your spotting and heavy period is a result of low iron (amenia).

Both of these can be tested with a blood test--even a miscarriage will leave you with some level of the HcG (pregnancy) hormone and an iron count is a seperate test. The amount of HcG in your blood would indicate either a miscarriage or a pregnancy depending on the quantity (ask for the quantative test, not the qualitative test). Ask your doctor for both of these tests.
Thanks for reading and God bless!

There are many factors that can affect a woman's cycle. Diet, excersise, stress, etc. It was most likely caused by the stress of moving so far from thos you are used to having near you.

Good Luck!

how long ago was that? because you need to see a ob/gyn... for the symthops i could tell it looks more like a miscarriage....sorry!

if you "period" was too heavy and you saw some clots came down.... and your cramps were more painful than usual..... it sure was a miscarriage....

make an appointment to see a ob/gyn.. that will be the best option.

good luck.

How about going to a doctor?? I have no clue & since I am not a medical professional then I cannot tell you why YOUR body did something unusual. Ask your doc.
