First of all,DO NOT USE KAYRO SYRUP!You should consult the baby's Dr. before you do anything. I was convinced that my newborn was constipated and mad that no one would take me seriously. Some of my friends and family said to give her water. Finally I bought some OTC medicine specifically for infants at the suggestion of a much older friend. I called my baby's Dr. first because the package said to consult a physician if the child is under two. The Dr. told me that infants don't have to poop everyday and not to give her the drops. Also not more than an oz. of water, because too much more that that can mess with her electrolytes. In fact my daughter hadn't pooped in three days and I was getting hysterical. But the Dr. really alleviated my fears. He said to give it another day, and thank God she finally did!! As for me feeling helpless and on the verge of tears(and actually crying) because I felt so bad about my little ones obvious discomfort, It has gotten better. She's two months now. You could try coating the tip of a thermometer with Vaseline and inserting it into the baby's rectum about a half an inch, but no more than an inch. Squeeze the little butt cheeks together for a few seconds and then put the diaper back on. Typically, you should have results in about 5 to 15 Min's.

Are you certain it is constipation? If you are a tad bit of kyro syrup and water in the bottle loosens them up, but ask your doctor first!

Please, please do NOT give your baby ANY type of syrup! It can be very harmful. I talked to my doctor about this...and he warned me against it. Instead, he told me to fill a bottle with warm water to about 4 ounces and add a tablespoon of sugar. Shake it up and give it to your baby...mine loved it!!! And, it worked like a charm everytime! Thats the safest way to get a bowel movement from a baby that is 1 week. Trust me, this works!!!

That is young for constipation. I have added a little Caro syrup in my children's bottles (like 1/2tsp) but not that young.

Best way, but weird way is to stick parsely in its anus. And when you take it out, stand back. I guarantee it will work. You know the leaf of parsely with the "stick".
