At my 18 week checkup next Tues, the OB is going to talk to me about optional down syndrome, spina bifida and alpha protein that they test for. just curious, is it only one blood test they give us to check for all the symptoms and then let us know if it came positive or negative right? how many of you actually got the test done? since it's optional I ask cause if it is positive then the OB may run more tests and certainly do Amniocentises which is not good for the baby or in any case good for me.

Another question! I have some friends who take their little babies up to a year out every month to celebrate each month till they are 1 year. Today is my friend's little girls 6-month birthday. I can just write to my friend: Hope your daughter is doing well. Congrats on her 6 month birthday" That sound nice and all?

We have been dealing with this since he was in K- he has tried most of the med's out there and nothing seems to be helping him. We are in weekly counseling separate for right now then together.We are trying to get in home support to. He is just so out of control and mouthy!! WOW!! The things that come out of his mouth. We have tried everything, punishment, taking things away, rewards for caught being good, talking, and nothing! He just does not care. He is getting violent, threating I am gonna punch you in the face and such like that. He has a younger brother who is 5 who he is very aggressive with and a younger sister who is 15 months that he adores!! He is very explosive and impulsive. I do spend quality time alone with him but that doe snot seemto make a diference at all. I am at my wits end. He did spend 6 days in a clinic where he was supposed to learn some tips to manage his anger, yeah that lasted all of 3 days when he came home. We've done charts and all of that. Please help!!!

I come off the contraceptive pill Just over a month ago.

Since then I had a period and 2 weeks later slight spotting, which I thought could of possibly been Implantation or just my system messed up.

I have had intercourse atleast 4 times a week since I come off my pill.

Over the last week I have had strange tickles in my tummy and the need to eat more and urinate more often (Im not sure if it is all in my head lol)

I was due on yesterday and I am still waiting. I understand that my body will be slightly messed up after coming off the pilla month ago, Though is it possible I could be pregnant?

Also I did a test yesterday afternoon and Only the 1 line (negative :o( appeared )

Hi I am 20 weeks pregnant and haven't felt my baby move (that I am sure of) Dr.s say it is okay some people don't feel it until later. My problem is that for the last 3 days My lower tummy hurts really bad. The nurse told me (on the phone) its just my uterus growing but, none of my friends remember this pain. I don't know if I should go to the Dr. today. Please advice

i gave birth to my son 3 weeks ago by cesearean section, yesterday i went shopping and was walking for a good 3 hours and carrying heavy bags, now im in total agony. it wasnt at the time i was in pain and had been feeling so much better! now i can hardly stand up and am having stabbing pains and a burning sensation inside, has anyone else overdone it like this?im worried that ive pulled and damaged myself internally if i was still healing?is this possible?

My sister was on here asking questions about her son and school, although most questions were well answered a few were very quick to jump to the conclusion that this was a problem with her son and not that of the teacher. Why do so many of you get so offended by the questions asked just because it is your profession and why do you assume that it is the parents or childs fault? When indeed this was a problem with the teacher, and a child ended up being pulled from that class because of the same issues. This was in regards to children being drilled by the teacher about being absent (with a Dr. written excuse) or etc. I mean some of the comments were ridiculous, 'stop coddling your child', 'grow up', 'nut doesn't fall far from tree', etc. When you insult people and their children you give them no choice but to react especially when they ask quesions to help resolve a problem not cause one. Just curious as to why so many need to offend?
