how do you as a parent seek to help you teenager?

Give them a good grounding on reality...then ground them when necessary. When the doors start slamming watch your fingers!
When they want to leave, offer a bigger suitcase.
When they say "I hate you" say "I know "
When they say "I wish----was my Mum" offer DNA
In all that time you hang on to your sanity, they grow up into ........ Well I still have a couple of the little buggars at home so don't want to hex myself.

I don't have a teenager yet as far as age goes but my 8 year old is very mature for his age plus i had a great mom. I don't think you should knock their ideas they are still growing and learning and just because their ideas arent' yours doesn't mean they are wrong they are probley still testing their wings and still aren't sure exactly what they are gonna do with their lifes they are just feeling around for answers. I try to encourage my kids to do what they want in life but to set realistic goals i mean if they say i want to be the next madonna and can't sing i would try and get them lessons lol. i think putting a kids idea's down just because they are different from yours is very bad for their self esteem

Talk with you child about everything, make sure that they realize that what every they do they must realize it may not turn out like they wanted. Stay an active part of their lives.

Give your kids all the encouragement you can. your the only ones going to give it to them. Other kids are just mean and wont tell you nice things.

welll my mom is always is always in my business well ever seen ive been doing stuff she tells me not to just to make her mad so for my addvice dont always stay suck up ur kids butt
