Pregnancy & Parenting - 30 September 2006

I work at an elementary school and the fifth and sixth grade girls dress in mini skirts and low cut shirts. I think that its a little inapropriate for girls that age to be wearing clothing like that. Am I the only one who thinks that? This is at a rather prestegious private school.

we were at a movie last night- I've known him since 3rd grade, and we are highschool freshmen now. We were REALLY close friends....but i was very angry when he tried to kiss me. eww...i don't like him like that!!!
We were NEVER anything more than friends! honestly, never ever. he could have been any girl in that we were very close without being sexual.
i'm shocked and sad that he's changed somewhat.
Should i get over it ? Or should i force out an apology? i'm so confused! that kiss was wierd...:(

Sorry that this is kinda a gross question..but I still wanna know lol....when you were pregnant or if you still are....do you ever have to go potty (#2) and what I would say awkward hours?? Like in the middle of the night....or anything like that?? I am 32 weeks pregnant and everyone says i am carring very low. People that see me everyday say my belly has dropped a lot the last week. My grandma said my baby is so low that he will have to crawl back up to get out. Is this cause for concern? How long after the baby drops does labor usually happen? Can anyone share their stories bout this with me please.Thank you.

Don't get me wrong. I understand that girls are nervous and want reassurance & to hear other people's experiences. I was just curious to see how many times this had been asked.

ok my daughter has been sick all her life but the doctors didnt seem to believe me now shes 16m and only 19lbs basically wearing sz 6m clothes are sizes of clothes really off or is my daughter really small? Why wont the doctors believe me?

I took 2/4 tests. Each was a 2 pack. One was WalMart brand the other was an EPT. All 4 tests showed up with a VERY THIN pink Line (they were the +/- type). The vertical line was 1/2 the size it should normally be. Does this mean im prego?? I've taken home tests with my other 3, but Ive never had just 1/2 a Line show up. Those ones showed up rather quick and they were the Dark full sized, showed up in less than 30seconds. Can you please help me?

Okay, just to warn you this is a two part question and a LONG one.

First my fiance is trying to get back in the lives of his two wonderful boys and it is going great. His ex has decided to say that if he wants to do this "by the book" then he
needs to provide insursance for the boys because the youngest,
Zachary, needs braces and such. But the new court order for child
support also included insurance saying that he must pay 42% of
all "medical, hospitalization, dental, orthodontic, optical, and
pharmaceutical expences incurred by or on behalf of the children and
not convered by insurance, including the deductible, if any." And
it also says that all payments for reimbursement support (medical I
am guess) have to be done through child support.

So basically he just need to tell her that as nicely as possible?

Because in reality Michael (my fiance) and I are both without insurance and Ally (our daughter)
has medicaid because we can not afford insurance.

When I started my new job in July I met a young pregnant woman. Although I did not get to know her very well, I was happy for her and, as most mothers do, bonded on some level with her. I was truly heartsick to learn that her baby boy was stillborn. I will be going to the service for the baby on Monday and, other than, "I am so sorry," I have no idea what to say or do for my friend.

It's Muslim holiday Ramadan. Muslims above age 18 R to fast for about 30 days, not eat anything or even drinking any water. Eating is only at night. They R to avoid contact with opposite sex even a peck on the cheek. No watching television—even Sesame Street, no music even Mozart. My husband and his kids are practicing Muslims. I’m walked away from all organized religions long before I met him and he knows this. The youngest & only girl (now 9) does not participate at this point & isn’t expected at her age. She & I are home alone. After eating almost nonstop since 8am, going online (under my supervision) watching cartoons, etc. she says “I'm doing Ramadan” & turns off the TV! I’m watching PBS but, I let it slide. I can see it on their website. I want 2 play classical music. She says that's “just not right" & looks really sad. Worse prob is the whole family practices their faith like this. How do you handle cafeteria style religion with side of self-righteousness & hypocrisy in others?

I did not get to know her well before she went on maternity leave, but I was truly heartsick to learn that her baby boy was either stillborn or died of birth complications. When I had kids I did not breast feed. However, a friend of mine just had her baby. He was 9 lbs. at birth. She will only feed him every three hours. I thought if you breast fed you did it "on command". Both times I have seen him, he has been sticking out his tongue and fussy. Which would have meant with my daughters they are hungry. I said "I think he's hungry." She told me he had another hour before he could eat again. Now, here comes the best part... She is "training" him to sleep through the night and skipping his nightly feedings so he learns to sleep. Remember he is only 5 days old. Is this something that sounds normal? It sounds totally ridiculous to me. She is starving him for six hours. Also, the nurse told her husband to have him suck on HIS nipples so he can have the bonding with the child. I think they have gone insane. My daughter was 10 pounds at birth and she ate up to 4 ounces every two hours some days. Does this sound crazy to you too?

a friend took in a 16 yo girl, who's father kicked her out of his house. he has full custody, and she is unable to return to the mother's due to a legal restraint. my friend would like to foster this child. she is sweet and lovable and looking for stabilty, which my friend is willing to provide. her father did not even enroll her into school, and the girl wants to attend. my friend has no legal papers allowing her any rights to help this child. how would she start helping this girl?

I have abnormal periods and by that i mean that i have my period maybe one to three times a year. My husband and i desperately want to have children and have been trying for over two years with no results. I have been to the doctor and they can't seem to figure out what the problem could be. They just know that there is nothing wrong with my thyroid and that my uterus is fine. When i was younger i was put on birth control. I stopped after two years. It has been about four years since then. Has anyone out there had something like this happen to them before? If so, were you able to concieve? I appreciate any answers. Thank you.
