Totally normal. It's all the pressure from the baby that causes your tail bone, and pubic bone to be sore.

I am wondering the same thing. I have the left side that hurts right above my butt. I think its the sciatic (spelled wrong?) nerve thing. I also noticed that my tail bone hurts sometimes when I sit down its a sharp aching pain. It doesn't hurt all the time though. I do exercise almost every day now and that seems to help the nerve pain. I am 20 1/2 weeks along.

Of course it depends on the person, but mine did.
With my first pregnancy it seems like it was worse (or I sat more because I worked). So at night I would sit on my balance ball. That really made a difference. I sat on it to eat, watch TV, do crafts, whatever. I wish I could have had it at work.
Sorry you have to deal with that.
Oh, and after reading some of the notes above, mine hurt more just because of the weight of pregnancy and sitting a lot- not from the baby riding on a nerve or anything.

mine was not sore during pregnancy, but my daughter did break my tailbone during delivery. which was awful, and what made it worse was, i had no idea that could happen.
