Pregnancy & Parenting - 24 September 2006

Please hear my story before you judge. I am married, and my husband and i have been married for 6 years now. We have a 1 year old son, who is a 'special needs' baby, and is on medicines and many doctors appointments. We live in a very small town, and his closest doctor is a 45 minute drive away. Everything has been fine until about 6 months ago. My husbands work went out of business, and our only car broke down. We were renting to own a house, but the owner of the house passed away unexpecdedly, so we were forced to move out, and now live in an apartment. Yes, our son has WIC, etc, but WIC only covers half of his formula since it is prescribed by his doctor because of his health needs. Also, the state insurance doesnt cover his medicine, which we could afford until all this other stuff happened. We love our son very much. But everything in our life seems to be going wrong and we can barely afford to live. I just want the best for my son, someone who can afford to provide for him.

Some people really aren't fit to be parents. Wouldn't it solve all the developed world's problems, like crime and overpopulation, if only certain people were allowed to reproduce?

My one year old baby boy is drinking milk, water juice and eats different baby cereals in the morning like oatmeal with banana or oatmeal with mixed fruit and crisps. I have been feeding him the number 3 jars of food. I try scramble eggs, chopped fine and he starts to gag and not swallowing it. Tried mash potatoes and different things chopped up. Doctor says he should be on table food now but he does not want it. I tried the little boxed baby dinners and he refused it. Doctor says nothing is wrong with his throat. Any ideas on what I can try him on. I was thinking of pastina.

In the middle of the night last night I started to have very mild cramping bot no spotting. I fell back to sleep and dreamed that I took 2 PT and both came out positive. Has this happened to anyone? LOL....

I normally have an irregular period and was wanting to get off the pill because it was causing me to have infections but everytime I tried to get off I would not have a per. for like 4 months,well I started drinking a health drink and have been off the pills for like 3 months and the first couple of months my per. was 10 days early and this one I just had was a day late and only lasted for two days.I have been having some symptoms like, heartbearn,nausea,even like not wanting to have anything to do with the boyfriend,and here recently a hemroid which I have never had before,someone told me you get them sometimes when your preg.Is it just wishful thinking or could I be pregnant?I couldnt tell with my last child cause I didn't have any symptoms so I was just wondering if I should just test to make sure.

My 13 yr. old daughter says she`s ready to take on more responsiblities.For Christmas,she wants something sort-of expensive such as either a digital camera,alaptop,a cell phone,etc.Last year,her grandmother got her a video camera,and after the first week ,she lost it.But, she has really improved a lot on her responsibilties,and done a lot to try and imprees me and her dad.She really deserves something like that,but im just not sure she`s ready for that responsibility again so soon.Should I buy her something sort-of costy ,or should I not?PLEASE HELP ME!

i haven't talked to husband in 2 days and want opinions on what to do. he went to the bar with his cousin on friday, night which we have terms for our alone nights out...such as no dancing with or going outside with opposite sex and be home by 2:30 am cause our bar closes at 3:00...plus he knew before he left that i was having lots of contractions and nausea (36 weeks preg.)anyways he didnt show up until 5:30 and all he said was that he passed out in cousins car and didnt get up until almost 5...i dont think that he was cheating, BUT i do believe that he's lying i think that he was out partying and dont want to admit it and i've noticed that his story keeps changing a little every time he tries to tell me not to be mad at him...do you think that i have a right to be really mad or do you think that my prego hormaones might be part of it? i just hate to be lied to cause it makes me wonder what else he lies about ya know

My bestfriend has a daughter that is my daughters age and they both started kinder. Well she keeps blaming the teacher for not teaching her daughter basic stuff like her name how to write it and her colors. Now I got mad and told her well technically she should have known her colors by the age of 3! and the pre req for Kinder is knowing their 1st and last name and how to write it! My daughter started kinder with the basic fundamentals of reading, spelling, her full name how to write it. her home adress, phone number, and DOB. Now my friend gives me the excuse well I dunno what the sitter does with her while im at wrk! BUT she can when she gets home help her or take her learning books 2 the sitter. Its ppl like that who will blame the system when their child fails or dosent get accepted to a good HS or college! Am I wrong for bringing this to her attention? Im looking out for her child while there is still a chance! Or should I butt out?

He started showing an interest before he turned two and I have been constant about asking him if he needs to use the potty since then. When he says no I just say ok. Now he has no interest at all and always says no, no matter what I try and how fun I make it sound. What can I do to get him interested in it enough to get serious about this and get it done?

My son just started kindergarten this year. Suddenly he's telling lies at home. The lies are not protecting his behavior though, they are actually lies about how he is getting in trouble at school. He is not getting in any trouble at all! He is making up stories about how he had to stay inside or his teacher told him to behave, then tells my husband and I a while later that he lied and wasn't really in trouble. My son is shy, but makes friends easily. He would be humiliated to actually be pointed out by his teacher that he is misbehaving. I have talked with him about how his lies hurt my feelings and how when he lies I don't know what stories are real and which are made up. What are your thoughts?

I have a 7 week old infant with chest congestion but has no symptoms of a cold she's not fussy, don't have a runny nose, just when she breathe sometimes it sounds like she has cold in her chest. This is my first child and i don't want to over react what can I do to help her b4 it gets worse.

My baby girl is almost 7 months old. She weighs 19 lbs and is about 28 inch long. Her car seat says up to 22 lbs andd 29 in. Should i wait for her to get to that point, or is it okay for her to be in a forward facing seat now? Her safety is my #1 goal! Any sites I can look up?? Thanks so much!
