About the sodas--I just read an interesting piece about how the high fructose corn syrup in sodas, with the carbonations, is VERY quickly absorbed into your bloodstream. That stresses the pancreas to keep the insulin levels normal from the rush of sugar. Makes sense, and makes enough sense to stay away from very sugary sodas while you are pregnant and sharing your blood. You need your blood to be as level and stable as possible for the baby.

Diet sodas have the artificial sweetners, skip those just to be safe.

Water, real fruit juice (check the labels, there is a lot of the high fructose corn syrup in supposed "fruit" drinks), milk, naturally decaffeinated teas. Homemeade fruit smoothies.

If you always side with caution, you will never have regrets or second thoughts. It's not forever, just for the pregnancy.

Be a fanatical label reader!!

I am 3 months pregnant with my first and I have had some really strange dreams!!! Drinking soda is supposedly bad during pregnancy but I have not really found out why. I just limit myself to about 2 a week. I do know that drinking diet soda is REALLY BAD because there is aspartame in it that is really bad for the baby. Anyway you should always just use your best judgment, I think the caffine is what is really bad because the baby can become addicted to it and have withdrawls after birth.

Definately had some crazy dreams. Once, I dreamt I had a baby girl and her chest hadn't fused together all the way and you could see her internal organs and no one saw this as a problem. my mother (Who is a new life nurse) said that the doctor would take care of it next week or something. She thought I was crazy for flipping out. Pretty strange. As for the soda, most doctors recommend little to no caffeine when you're pregnant. I was told no more than one caffenated beverage a day (cup of coffee, can of Coke, etc...) But basically you're supposed to cut back. So you can drink Sprite and the equivalent but cut back on the Coke and Pepsi.

I am always having dreams about being with old boyfriends. I hate this. I am also having some good dreams. Last night , I had a dream that I was having another girl. I hope it will come true. I just love the idea of having my 3 girls first. Then my little boy. No one should drink soda. It really messes with your system. Coca Cola has to be the worst to drink. I mean, when you can take some of the coca cola and get rust off of your tire rims, I think its time to switch to water. Plus the caffeine is not good for you and your little cutie.

The crazy dreams you are having are probably because of the changes in your body (both physical and chemical) that the brain is trying to interpret. Its normal to have strange dreams.

As for soda. The thing you need to understand about diet and prenancy is that it is more important that you generally eat well and get lots of vitamins then it is that you completely stay away from certain foods. Soda is not good for you anyway, so you should definately try to avoid it whenever possible. But undertand that your baby is not going to be sick if every once and awhile you have a soft drink. Just make sure to eat lots of good-for-you foods and consume fewer junk foods.

The only dreams I had when I was pregnant, was that I was having a girl. Drinking soda is bad for you, prego or not. I had gestational diabetes when I was pregnant, so soda was off limits for me. My daughter is almost 5 now and I still don't drink soda very much. The dentist told me one time that for each sip of soda you take, the acid eats away at your teeth for 20 minutes. That was enough to make me cut it out. I also read online that people used to use Coke to eat away at minerals that had hardened metal. You be the judge.

OMG. I had crazy dreams all the time, to the point that I didn't want to go to sleep - not because they were scary or anything, I just didn't know what I was going to dream next.

I'd wake up going, "What the hell was that?"

They were real weird, didn't make sense and sometimes felt like they were a bunch of dreams spliced together.

As for the coke, I'd definitely cut back. Try drinking more water, can't go wrong with that.

My dreams have been pretty weird since I got pregnant, not about anything in particular just really random and vivid. As far as the soda thing goes, I drink root beer sometimes cause I love it and it doesn't have caffine, but it makes me really bloaty and gassy so I don't take too much. My sister drank Coke all through her pregnancy cause she craved it, there was no harm to her baby, but she did gain 60 lbs. I would just drink water most of the time (I do) and have a soda when you really want one, but not too often.

I've always had crazy dreams. But as far as soda goes, go with the diet soda. I drink diet to keep the calories down, especially with the cravings I have and I balance the soda with plenty of water and juice.

I've always had crazy dreams & they got worse when I was pg. I wish I'd kept a journal of all the crazy dreams I had while pg.
As far as drinking soda, one dr told me I could, another dr told me I could not.
You need to ask your doctor about it. If he/she says no and you want to drink it, ask what the reason is that you should not have it & then make up your own mind using your own judgement.
