1. There are certain tests that need to be run to determine the cause of infertility. If your fallopian tubes are blocked, for example, you won't get pregnant no matter how frequently you ovulate.
2. DO NOT buy clomid over the internet without a prescription- there is no regulation and you have no idea what you'll end up with. It might be a sugar pill- or even worse, it could have contaminants that could be harmful to you. Also, there are risks to taking clomid, and you should be aware of them before you start taking it.
3. Make sure you have an open line of communication with your doctor while you are going through this work-up. If your doctor is doing a good job of explaining things to you, you won't need to post questions on ths board!!

Be aware of Clomid' side effects !!! If taken for a long time of period (say 12 months), there is a risk of ovarian cancer. Both my mum and sister took Clomid and after 6 weeks taking it, they developed 2 breast lumps !!! Besides that, I am TTC too, and the midwife told me, if you ever decide to take Clomid, you must take regular mammograms and ultrasounds to see whether a cyst or lump is forming !!! You want to take this risk dear ? So think twice !!!

clomid shoud only be given to women who dont ovulate so tests should be run,or you will end up with ectopic pregnancies

You would have to take some tests first. such as a pregnancy test, thyroid test, check your liver. But he may not give it to you because you have irregular periods unless you are trying to conceive a child. He may just change your current birth control (if your on any).
