We may be moving soon and that means a job switch. We are also wanting to try for kid number 2. If we switch health insurance 1/2 way through the pregnancy, it is considered "preexisting" and hence, not covered? I know that it may depend on the company we'd be switching to, but I'm just asking in general.

I went to get a pregnancy test because I felt a little off this morning. I just took it and it is positive. I had my last period at the end of July. Since then, I started bleeding again two days ago. It is light and doesn't have any clots but it is more than what I would consider spotting. Also I am not cramping. Could this be a sign of miscarriage? Is this normal? What could be some causes of the bleeding? Help!!!!!!!!!!

My friends and I are trying to recall old wives tales on concieving... Like standing on your head after sex... that sort of stuff... most of the old wives tales we can think of are how not to get pregnant! It's for a babyshower game we are going to play for a friend!

I'm on birthcontrol and I missed a pill and shortly after I started feeling like I was pregnant but kept taking my pills. My friend told me I could cause the baby to have birth defects if I continue the pill so I stopped. Two or three days later I had a really heavey period more than normal ( 10 days before my period was suppose to start) I also had a lot more cramping than normal. So I thought I might of had a miscarriage or something. Then 3 days later after my period stopped I had a mix drink with alcohol (just one drink and I was not drunk or nothing) and I began to feel sick and I threw up. Could I be pregnant? Please Answer

They hit each other, disrespect me, and sometimes hit me. They are 7 and 9. Just now I tried putting them in the "naughty chair" like on Nanny, because they were hitting each other. It doesn't seem to work that well, they drag the chairs across the room and goof around. I tried keeping them in the chairs but they just got madder and started kicking me. What should I do with them when they act up? Please serious answers only, I try my best, it's a touchy subject for me.

Does this sound like a good teacher for your child to have? What are your opinions on her teaching methods?

He was fine for awhile but now the constipation and gas have gotten worse. We tried Similac when he was younger but he didn't like it. Should I try it again or try something else. BTW this is our first child.

...and what type/brand toothpaste do you recommend? My husband and I use "Tom's of Maine" for ourselves, but I'm concerned that it will be too overpowering for my one year old. Anything out there that's not loaded with sugar/saccharine/nastiness?

Thanks.

I posted sometime ago about my mother being pregnant, and I received wonderful advice on what to do. I thank you all for that.

My mother is currently a little more than two months pregnant. Understandably, she's been tired more than usual (and I naturally help her out in whatever way I can). However, it seems she also seems to be slightly nauseous when it comes to food, and has vomited a number of times already.

I'm quite concerned. Is that a normal symptom? Also, if it's worth adding, my mother has already had three children (myself being the oldest) and she is currently 39, which I presume is late for having children. Does that run its own risks?

Thanks.

What is your take on artificial insemination? My partner and I cannot have children due to truama that my better half experienced to certain necessary parts. I love children and really do want a child within the next 5 years and I am seriously considering the options. But here are my worries
1) Will there be a disconnect between my partner and the child because technically the child will only be mine?
2) How do you tell your child something like this? I would always want to be honest.
3) How do I tell my mom, she will not be happy about it
4) What if I am not able to afford it? I feel so morally wrong paying so much money to become impregnated. It is alot of money. I feel even worse thinking of finance options...FOR A CHILD.. it freaks me out. A child is not a stereo system.

I will truly appreciate your honest opinions and your sensitivity to this situation.

He constantly defys authority, doesn't listen when he's told to do something, throws fits and tantrums, is extremely loud, can't sit still. His peditrician said that she doesn't treat children with that, if he's even diagnosed with that, until they're like 6 or 7 years old. I'm almost 8 months pregnant with twins and I'm not sure I can handle it anymore!!! Any advice????

I am little framed and sometimes i heard if that, or the baby turns around or if i cant push and the baby is endangered i might have to have a C-section. I am soooooooooo scared of having my stomach sliced and wrinkley! I know there is a bigger picture here but i am litte 4'11 and about 115lbs this is my biggest fear! Alos it will take away from the natural vaginal birth effect (although i want an epi) and i want it recorded for my child!

Is there anyways to prevent this c-section thing ahead of time??

And I'm living In a two bedroom home my two year old sleeps in her own (toddler) bed and she sleeps in our room her bed is close to our bed. I've been thinking about moving her into the other room tonight should I do it? The other room only has a couple of dressers in it and I've been dreaming about the day that the room will be hers.Plus we have another baby that sleeps right by my side of the bed because I'm breastfeeding at night. She's very jealous of the baby. I'm afraid that she's not ready to sleep in a room by herself since she does have nightmares(which are normal for a child her age). Should I put her in the other room to sleep? Should I do it gradually? I've searched the internet and found nothing that can help. Please give me a few tips about what I should do. Only serious answers,no harsh comments, because there's nothing wrong about asking......

I am in a relationship with a man who I love. He also loves me, but I am now pregnant and this wasn't planned. We aren't married and I personally wasn't planning on getting married let alone pregnant for quite some time. When I told him he immediately told me we would be getting an abortion as it is his opinion that neither of us are ready. After a few weeks of this pregnancy idea floating around he told me he'd be supportive no matter what I decided. But it's clear he's unready to be a father. My question is why would he suggest this? And if I did go through with an abortion wouldn't I always resent him?

I had an earlier question like this. I don't really need sympathy, I just need answers.

I've read (and heard of) stories where babies (single birth) were hidden on ultrasound view, up until 10 or 13 weeks of pregnancy. Sometimes the equipment was faulty, and sometimes the technicians didn't know what they were doing, and sometimes the pregnancy was too early to detect. I'm not talking about that-- I'm talking that the baby was viable, and old enough to be seen on an ultrasound, but the baby couldn't be seen.. vaginally or abdominally.

(the questions i ask aren't always about me, i have a small pregnancy club, and sometimes i ask questions here so that i can tell them what the trends are)
