I posted sometime ago about my mother being pregnant, and I received wonderful advice on what to do. I thank you all for that.

My mother is currently a little more than two months pregnant. Understandably, she's been tired more than usual (and I naturally help her out in whatever way I can). However, it seems she also seems to be slightly nauseous when it comes to food, and has vomited a number of times already.

I'm quite concerned. Is that a normal symptom? Also, if it's worth adding, my mother has already had three children (myself being the oldest) and she is currently 39, which I presume is late for having children. Does that run its own risks?

Thanks.

Feeling ill and vomiting is a normal symptom of pregnancy. It is especially normal in the first trimester (3 months). It can also continue past that. As long as your mom is still getting the proper nourishment and rest that she and your little brother/sister needs, the illness should not pose too many health risks. Assuming she is under a doctor's care, her "morning sickness" will be monitered to insure it is not irregular. Her age could be of concern, but doctor will determine if any tests should be run. All in all, if your Mom is only having this one problem and it is mild, do not worry. Just help her as much as possible. Otherwise, just be sure to advise her that prenatal care by a physician is super important!!!!!

Absolutely normal. A lot of women get nausea just by the smell of fish, and or other foods

A little risk, but nowadays alot of people don't even think of having kids until 35-40. And with the advancement in the medical field, risks are very low.

OMG yes. I threw up a lot, I mean, like every morning and night the WHOLE pregnancy. It effects different women different ways.

Help out by offering ice chips, icee's work great, watermelon or other watery fruit.

39 does run a few risks but with medical advances, I wouldnt be concerned.

During your first 3 months of pregnancy, alot of women get "morning sickness". That's perfectly normal. And as for being 39? I wouldn't worry too much about that, tell her to talk to her doctor about her chances of a normal pregnancy. He'll gladly fill her in.
