My friends and I are trying to recall old wives tales on concieving... Like standing on your head after sex... that sort of stuff... most of the old wives tales we can think of are how not to get pregnant! It's for a babyshower game we are going to play for a friend!

These are some great tales... it's harder to try to find tales on concieving then it is to find tales on how not to get pregnant. I'm excited about this baby shower!!! We just need a few more TALES:) :) :) Anyone else got any good ones!!! Just for fun you can also list how not to get pregnant... we might be able to get that into the game as well!

Viking men (I believe) used to think that if you had sex with your wife, with your ax on the right side of the bed, that you would conceive a boy. Lots of the old wives' tales were about the best way to get a boy. If only they had figured out that men were the ones who determined the sex before women had their heads chopped off! Some others say that the way your bed faces (must be north-south) will determine a boy, while there is still the issue of how deep penetration is and the sexual position that will give you one sex or the other ("doggie style" for boy, missionary for a girl). Some tales are based on the position of the moon's phases, and others are just outright ridiculous, like when people used to have sex with one shoe on to predict one sex or the other. Have fun at the shower!

One old wives tale is that if you are having trouble getting pregnant then do it doggy style. No joke. It works.

let's see, one is putting your legs up on the wall to "help the sperm flow" only other one i can think of is how to determine the sex of the baby with the wedding band and the string.

I think my father-in-law tried to say the man has to go deep to make it a boy. I think it may be hogwash LOL, but funny thought.

sit on the tolit and push "it" out before it reaches the egg, thats how to not get pregnant.
