Does this sound like a good teacher for your child to have? What are your opinions on her teaching methods?

I personally don't see anything wrong with her teaching practices. Teaching grammar based on a book is a very common teaching method. Perhaps the only possible flaw is the choosing of a non-classic, which may not have strictly correct grammar. But I believe, if it can hold the student's attention and teach properly at the same time, then there is nothing wrong with the technique.

I don't understand your question. You have a teacherwho is not olnly willing to keep you informed AND involed with your child's education, but who is encouraging it. You know what your child is studying, what assignments to ask about and have the chance to read the book along with (or before) your child.... I think you've got a very communicative teacher who is looking out for your child's scholastic interest. If only more teachers could take that extra step, what kind of graduates would we be turning loose on the world?

What was your question again?

Sounds good to me. What part do you have a problem with? Or are you the teacher and want parental feedback on your teaching plan?

If your are commenting on the materials she is choosing such as the books on witch stories, I think she's doing that b/c children love that stuff that why Henry Potter books are so popular.
She is getting them interested in reading which is a good habit for our kids to get into. Chill out and stop worrying the year has just begun, if you see that she continues showing signs of darkness in other areas then talk with the principle about your concerns.

I think she sounds fine. I am studying to be a teacher and I think the kids will be able to achieve the objectives that the lessons intend by following the lessons. She seems to give enough time for the kids to finish their work and doesn't cram too much on them.

The subject matter seems okay. However, I think that an english teacher should have a proper grasp of grammar and if you read through that carefully you can see that she certainly does not.

Sounds good to me. At least you are being given a clear list of objectives at the start. i like the fact that she is concentrating on getting things right, rather than this liberal "mistakes don't matter" attitude.

I see nothing wrong with anything she has put in this newsletter. What exactly do you have wrong with this plan? She seems to be keeping you well informed with what she is doing with her students.
