I hear people all the time critisizing moms for working and putting their children in daycare. Do they think that we enjoy having to have someone else caring for our children for 10 hours a day? The fact is that many fathers don't make enough money to completely care for their family financially; Most moms have to pitch in financially. My husband makes about $30,000.00 a year and that is not enough to support himself, me, and 3 kids. I need to work to support my kids. And that comment that many people make "Well you shouldn't have kids if you just plan to shove them into a daycare." That is just ignorant. The cost of living nowdays is very different than it was 50 yrs ago. It usually takes 2 incomes. Why is it always the mom who is the bad one? The dads work too.

I just found out by a court order DNA test that i have a daughter a few months ago. Since i found out, i have been ordered to pay Child Support, and i have been paying, on time, each month. But yesterday, i got a bill in the mail for more than $8,000 in back child support, and it says if i dont pay it in 30 days, then it will go on my credit and taken out of my income taxes.

I though you only owed 'back' child support if you KNEW you had a child and refused to pay. How can i owe this money for the past if i just found out a few months ago? I also found out that the mother of the child put my name on the birth certificate when the baby was born, without me even knowing, and then went and filied for child support. She has been receiving child support since the day the baby was born, and i am now just finding out (almost 3 years later). I am being charged for the last 3 years in child support, but i just got the DNA test and started paying a few months ago.

we live in a house which is surrounded by woodland, when my little boy is outside playing with his cousin, he tends to pee wherever he is (on a tree ect.). My husband doesnt see this as a problem as we have very secluded grounds, but as he is due to start school next week im worried about him at playtime?
Any advice or tips please?

Cookie baking, homeschooling, always happy (even when coated in puked up pureed carrots and baby poop) never fussy or upset, etc? Are we supposed to just never get frustrated or even pissed at stuff our kids do? For Christs sake, I'm not saying throw the kids in a dungeon, but are we allowed to be ever disapprove of their "mural" of heaven knows what on the kitchen wall in non-erasable crayon? Everyone here seems to be this way and so quick to judge everyone else. I'm sorry, but my kids are human and so am I. When you perfect people get a spare moment, please fax me the DNA/RNA synthesis code to upgrade my own so I can be one of the Stepford Mommies too. For alas, I have miserably fallen short of perfection. I haven't baked any cookies in almost a week.

Weird diaper rash in our house this morning. I say it's just a regular plain ordinary standard baby diaper rash, but my next door neighbour says it's a "rubber pants rash". I have never heard of a rubber pants rash before, have you?

The baby does wear rubber pants, but a rash strictly from rubber pants over a diaper?

A guy who lives a few blocks down from me let's his son climb all over his car. On top of the roof, on the hood, and he's fallen off many times. I'm concerned that this child is really going to be hurt. The child is about 5 years old. I've said something to the father, but he's rude, and I want to mind my own business.....but I'd rather not see this child crack it's lil head open. Should I report the father? Or what else could I do?

I guess you thought you were not pregnant after having a period, but what made you take a test & find out? My period ended 5 days ago and my abdmonimal area has just been feeling crampy and I have had some major headaches. What are the statistics that this occurs? How did you feel/symptoms?

I really don't want to waste money on a pregnancy test. I do have a doctor's appointment next week.

Thanks..

I Was Outraged!!! I Couldn't Believe It. How Awful Of Them To Pass That. It's Enough That Like 4,000 Babies Are Killed Everyday By Abortion. But This Is Crazy, What Is Our World Coming To?

I had implants early last year, and my hubby and I are planning on TTC starting November. We want to breastfeed, but with the implants I was just curious if it were any different than normal,or numb feeling? I did talk to the Dr. when the surgery was done, and he said should be no problems..Im just curious if anyone had good/bad experiences on this topic. Thanks!

My wife had our first baby 2 months ago, and she is carrying a little extra weight now, like any normal post-partum mother. But she keeps getting comments from dumb people that don't realize she already had the baby..like "You're getting bigger...", and "When is the baby due?".

It kinda bums my wife, naturally. But what should her response be? What should she say? Perhaps something witty...or something gentle...what do you think she should say?

I want to thank everyone for you opinions on abortion. I know it is a touchy subject for many, many others are undecided. and some are strongly for or against.
It's a subject that really gets people to open up and say what they think.I am 23 and I have two beautiful children myself 5 years and 5 months and would never and have never thought about abortion.
If a person waited until they thought they were ready for parenthood they would never have kids. If you feel you are not emotionally or physically ready and you decide to have an abortion you are being selfish because guess what you will never be ready no matter how much you prepare. If you don't feel you are financially ready, once again if you wait for money you'll be waiting along time. parenthood is hard for EVERYONE no matter what the situation. But a life is a life and god gave you this miracle for a reason. He would'nt give it if he didn't think you were ready. He never throws you anymore then what you can handle. thank you

recently i took custody of my son from his mother because of no food, missing school etc. his 10yr old bud is allowed to sleep all day and is never up before noon,i knock on their door and telephone and because his mothers sleeps like that as well i cant get a hold of anyone there,i told my son it's wrong sleeping in like that,i won't allow you to grow up like that and your not allowed any more overnight's there, well my son does not see anything wrong with sleeping like that and how can i get this message across to him.i'm hoping having him read this and people's answers just might help.P.S. i'm not a mean dad,a single father with only 1 child and he does get everything on a silver platter now the court awarded me full time custody,he's now called the rich kid,so everything is great here.Thank's,Steve Shewfelt.

medical and physio help isn't great where we live - all the dr's say just wait and see - , he has brain damage but no-one can tell us how any of it does or will affect him, we are flying blind right now, my kid is also deaf now and has lost all of his speech, i would really like suggestions from anyone who has heard of similar situations because right now i am doing everything i can -massage physio exercises trying to learn and teach signing etc - but my son's life is horrendous and i need to help him get mobile again so that he can have some kind of life, he is trapped in his own head waiting for other people to guess what he needs all the time, i think he must be very lonely and frustrated. I don't believe in wait and see i think he needs serious help now i just wish i knew what i was doing or had some experts on hand or the money to get my son to a brain injury specialist or something. This is a parent's worst nightmare and i feel utterly helpless for my poor child. Any ideas?
