I don't think there is a way, or the doctor could rotate the baby for you. Hopefully he'll turn for you! I know its tight in there, but you still have time for him to turn.

The question of whether or not you need to have a caesarean because of a breech baby is not that clear cut. There was a famous trial that concluded that a caesarean was the safest option, but many people still think that vaginal birth can be safe for a breech baby so long as you have a midwife or doctor who is experienced in vaginal breech deliveries.

Advocates of vaginal breech birth may offer the traditional advice of 'hands off the breech' suggesting that one should not touch the breech baby as it is born. They argue that if labour begins spontaneously (not medically induced) and progresses normally it is likely that all will be well, particularly if medical interventions such as epidural/opiate pain relief or oxytocic drugs are avoided.

With regard to changing the baby's position, do a search for 'optimal foetal positioning' and that should bring up some advice. A procedure called 'External Cephalic Version' can be carried out by an experienced obstetrician, where the baby is turned into the head down position, but the baby may move back, and also it might not be recommended if you have had a caesarean previously, because of the risk of uterine rupture.

Ultimately though, this is an issue you need to take up with a qualified midwife or obstetrician, as they are the specialists in childbirth. If you are thinking of making choices that are different to what your healthcare professional is advising, you should make sure you do a lot of serious research, and maybe get a second opinion.

My third baby was breech until about 38 weeks or so. You still have plenty of time and personally, I would *NOT* schedule a c/s. First, work on getting the baby to turn. And DON'T let them scare you with size estimates. It's JUST an estimate and they are OFTEN way off on the sizes.

Then, if that doesn't seem to be working by your caregiver's "deadline" ask that you still be allowed to wait until you go into labor. The baby may turn right up to the last minute. If he doesn't, then at least you'll know he was ready to be born when you're wheeled off for the c/s.

Some stuff you can do now to work on turning the baby:

Breech tilts exercise where you lay with your hips raised about 12-18 inches for about 20 mins a couple of times a day.

Hot/cold packs. I did this while I was in the breech tilt. Put a hot pack on your crotch and an ice pack on your fundus (top of uterus) to try to get baby to turn head down, towards the heat.

Visualize the baby in the correct position.

Talk to the baby about turning.

Have someone else (dad or big sibling) talk to the baby with their head in your lap in hopes of baby turning head down. You can also play music "near the exit" for baby or shine a light there.

Do shoulder stands. I think this is what finally caused my little stubborn girl to turn. I felt a HUGE movement when I came down from a shoulder stand and she was head down at my next appointment.

Do handstands or cartwheels in a swimming pool.

Moxtibustion.

Chiropractic treatment - the Webster Technique. This is supposed to be VERY effective for turning breech babies. It would have been my next step had my daughter not turned when she did.

I am guessing that since you have had a prior C/S that you wouldn't be a candidate for an external version? You should ask your doctor, but I'm guessing your history would eliminate that possibility for you. Someone else mentioned trying a version at 40+ weeks. That's too late for a version. You'd probably need to do a version by 38 weeks for it to have a chance of working.

Hope this helps!

You could try the "breech tilt"exercise. Place a board at about a 45 degree angle between the floor and a couch. Get on the board with your head down at the bottom of the board and your feet up at the top, and stay in the position for about 5-10 minutes. It may be more comfortable for you to lay on your back and raise your bottom about 15 inches off the floor, with some help from some pillows, of course. Another option is for you to get into an extreme knee-chest position. The point is to get the hips higher than the head so the force of gravity will encourage the baby to move up out of the pelvis and into a more favorable position. This is a harmless exercise and can be coupled with such things as placing headphones near the pubic bone and playing music to encourage the baby to turn, and talking to the baby (or having dad talk to the baby near your pubic bone).

I don't think there is any good, effective way. I was in exactly the same situation as you. My first son was an emergency c-section. My second son was breech. I was hoping he would turn, but no. Since I had already had a c-section previous though I was much less apprehensive about it. Hey, it was kinda nice to be able to know I was going in to have my baby at 7 am Wednesday! :)
I will soon be trying to conceive a 3rd and now that I have had 2 c-sections I will most likely elect to have another.

My little girl was breech and they tried a ECV (external cephalic version). Where they try to turn the baby from the out side. I was 40weeks and 2 days at the time.
It was the most pain full thing ever but I was desperate for a normal birth. She didn't move so I went on to have a c-section.
There are a few way you can try like spending time on all four (doggie style).
There is also a Chinese thing that is suppose to work(see link)
Good luck with the birth of your new baby.

I did watch a programme a while ago when they were showing a lady with a breech baby, they were massaging her stomach quite firmly trying to push the baby around with hope of turning it. They didn't manage it on that occasion but it has on others.
I wouldn't try it yourself. talk to your midwife and she what she suggests, it maybe too late to turn the baby now with you being so far along and the baby being so big.
You have another 2 weeks it is not impossible that it might turn itself.

Good luck

yes there is a few things that can be done naturally
you could see a accupunturist they could get the baby to turn round by putting a needle in either your left or right foot,
there is a homeopathic remedy for this I will not list it please go and see a homeopathic doctor.
my partner used a homeopathic remedy to induce her self and for pain releive, the doctors wanted her to go into hospital to be induced because she had high blood presure, our baby was born at home with a midwife and it was a very easy labour,
I could give you more advice if you would like. you could look on the web and find the remedy very easy but I suggest you see a homeopathic doctor.

definite u can choose for the C-section. My aunts toddler became breech virtually until the top. She became on no account going to enable them to turn it. She became choosing the C-section. the toddler did turn yet she ended up with C-section in any case. This technique u communicate of may be the single the place they conflict to instruct it jointly as u are in hard artwork. Why they might pick every physique to circulate by using it somewhat is loopy. that would desire to no longer artwork and u might desire to nonetheless finally end up with a C-section. it is going to easily placed on u out extra. tell your midwife if that toddler do no longer turn u pick to have a scheduled C-section.

only doctors know what to do.

I'm sure baby will turn last minute.

my baby tuned last min. and she has been lying breech up to the very end. i think it was because I'm small build and she found out that it will be more comfortable for her to by lying that way.

i was scared as this was my first baby, but thank God.
She turned.

Have a little faith in the little one.
God bless

It is actually safer for you and the baby to have another c-section. A friend of mine lost her little girl due to uterine rupture (Baby had lack of oxygen from being outside the uterus), when she went into labor a couple of weeks earlier than her due date. Your doctor can try to turn the baby, but it is VERY painful. They push on your stomach. They did this with my sister and it bruised her whole stomach and she still had to have a c-section.
