It alternates with teen/preteen when is becomes obvious that teens are misusing it. The thought is that teens don't like being called adolescent. It is almost as bad as calling them juvenile or sophmoric.

Always, however the purpose of this is for parents to ask questions concerning their teens and preteens. Not for preteens and teens to chat.

a couple of days they changed the name from teen and preteens to adolescents.to try and rid the page of the teens asking innappropriate questions

Its just a big word that means kids. So consider this the teen pre-teen section.

this category took over preteen/teen...That is b/c kids were posting in here b/c they are teens...But in actuality, this category is for "Parenting a teen"..so its more for the moms & dads to ask questions about their teenagers...Not for teenagers to ask questions...
