Pregnancy & Parenting - 21 August 2006

I know all children are different and everything will happen when they are ready...but I still think sometimes that my son is "behind". I'm not panicking or stressed out about it, it just crosses my mind sometimes. Does anyone else feel like this?

My son is 12 1/2 months old and says "DaDa", "MaMa", and "YumYum". He can walk holding onto the furniture and your fingers. He can stand by himself, but not walk on his own.

I feel so guilty when my 1 yr old stay over the grandmothers for a day or two. My hubby says you need to get rest and have a day to you self, but I feel so guilty.

could my daughter's epilepsy be making it hard to train her she's 3yrs old and is fully bowel trained but not fully bladder trained she will go if you put her on but she will wet herself and not even know she did it she almost gets it then has another seizure and its all wiped from her memory any ideas?

He woke up with a very congested chest and his voice sounds raspy, i know i should take him to the doctor but id like to know if i can give him an over the counter medicine or a home made remedy to get rid of his phlems so he can breath better. Do chicken pox have to start out on the stomach and back??
Do children always feel bad when they get them?
I am pretty sure my 4 year olds have Chicken Pox, but they aren't all that sick. They are fussy and have a fever but they still want to play outside. They only have a few little spots. One has like 4 bumps and the other has 7. I know people that have had like 10. The bumps are red with a small blister in the middle. Our doctor says that sounds exactly like chicken pox. So, do they have them?

I'm in California. I'm 27 and I had sex a few times with this girl I liked. She got pregnant now sueing me for full custody and support. She saids its not personal and only business and good for the baby and in her statement made it sound like I was irresponsible. Well i'm not mentally, financially, or emotionally able to raise a child but can i turn the tables around her and say she is harassing me and bring evidence to show them we don't get along. She keeps saying it's not about us but about the baby. Which is stupid. I don't want a kid and I wanted her to have an abortion. Her choice her responsiblity. I haven't even seen the kid, my sister has and yes, the mother has invited me to see her and i was going to go the weekend she was born but didn't. Now this is the worst thing to happen to my family. I think I might be pregnant. I feel pregnant. I know what it feels like because I've been pregnant twice already. My period is a day late and I've been suspecting that I've been pregnant for quite a while. About a week ago I got the mumps and my doctor gave me a steroid shot to make the swelling go down. I've taken four pregnancy tests and they've all come up negative. Is it possible that the steroid shot could be effecting the results of my home pregnancy tests. I wouldn't have wasted so much money on tests but I just have a feeling that I am pregnant.

Does anyone have any tips for getting poop smell out of carpet? I've tackled this problem before with cats and it took a long time but I got it out with lots of hard work. Yesterday my daughter smeared her poop into the carpet in her room. She has pooped in her room before and it has cleaned up just fine with no after smell... but this time I finally got it cleaned up but the room still smells awful. I don't have enough money to rent a rug doctor until next payday and I just want to get the smell out of there the best I can until I can shampoo the whole carpet. This is definitely disgusting. Toddler poop is definitely harder to clean up than cat and dog poop.

Can't they think and ask anything else? Haven't their parents educated them? Why can't they ask some nice questions about school or at least some properly spelled and decent questions about kissing or something??? It seems like every teenager goes straight onto sex now... I feel so different 'cause now it's only sex, sex, sex with just about all of them and I haven't even held a boy's hand yet!

I went to my GP 18 months ago to get tests to determine why i wasnt concieving, i was given some routine blood tests and then was referred to a specialist at the fertility unit at a hospital. In all this time of waiting for appointments and then getting further tests, nobody asked me or even mentioned the importance of Rubella. I changed my GP a few months ago but i have to think that it was my first GP's responsibility to check this. Only now when im to start fertility treatment has this come up as one of the clinics screening tests. I had to go to my GP to get another blood test and im waiting on the levels coming back to see if i had it as there is no record in my file. If i need to get the Rubella injection now, it means i will have to delay fertility treatment for 3 months. Im soooo mad.

Why do some people on here put down single mothers and talk about how their tax money is paying for our kids because we couldnt keep our legs shut? I got news for people who have no clue, I am a single mom and I was with my childrens father for 10 years, we split because he became a violent alcoholic so I along with my kids had to get out. As far of living off of peoples taxes, I work go to college and carry my own health insurance on my children, I get no help at all from the state at all so no one pays for my kids but me and Ive done it for 11 years. Im just tired of accusations being made by people who think they are better then everyone else and have no idea of peoples circumstances, do any single moms agree with me?

ok so i have had an abnormal period for almost a year now. my husband and i had sex for the first time ever 3 weeks ago and have not used any form of contraception. i am urinating more frequently, have increased appetite, lower abdominal swelling and mood swings but no breast tenderness or sickness, the ept test responded negative...but due to not having a period in 13 months, i cannot know for sure if i have missed one.

I know the baby's fine, we had our ultrasound last wed., and he moves A LOT. But I'm 21wks now and you wouldn't be able to tell I'm pregnant??? My husband and I can see a difference, but I don't have the PREGNANCY belly. I do have a longer mid-section and am 5'6" tall. But, I wondering if my uterus has enough room in it without my belly being big? This is my first pregnancy too. The doc said my uterus is where it should be, but I feel I should also be getting a stomach at this point? Should I call the doc again about this? Or does that sound like a crazy woman? I don't want to be huge, just look like I'm half way pregnant without people looking at me like I'm a liar!!!! Thanks!!
